The difference in the blundercannon is aesthetic only. It has no damage bonus to it.

The only difference, one that I find helpful, is the new graphic can be more easily seen under a ships mast while changing direction/maneuvering to fire off alternating sides of the ship. They’re easier to manually click due to a slightly larger display/graphic which is more evident under the mast.
Only in awesomeness... i mean... being able to shoot bob out of a canon is nice.
