Do you think there should be a Code of conduct for Governors ???

@Lord Gareth there is a difference, between real life issues and just not showing up. It also states that if you can't meet the terms then resign.

It's one thing to miss do to work, family, and emergency. However, to choose not to attend because you feel like it is disrespectful to the EM and other players that made the commitment.
Agreed so maybe the EM playing the king punishes the governor by hiding his city buff stone for three days for disrespecting the king, or change the gov's title to reflect his actions for a span of time..then the citizens can revolt against the governor, or guess what...not elect him/her/it. It's a role play aspect of an ancient game, if people can't have a little fun and use it as a role play aspect..it's dumb to begin with..

again, the only reason a significant amount of people are in any way involved in this is the city buff.

a couple options.

give reds their own fel city... (bucs den would be appropriate)

get rid of the buff in fel.

dont expect pvpers that are only there to get the city buff to participate in the RP side of governors because all they want is a fair playing field when it comes to pvp.

Kyronix has already mentioned incorporating Trade Deal-type buffs into VvV somehow, likely based on capturing a city or whatnot. Or simply *coughs* allow citizens to chose their own buffs as I suggested earlier (and many, many times in the past...) *coughs* Problem solved.

Demanding that a player be at the meetings or not be a governor is a bit silly. The meetings are pure RP and its not as if someone not being there, short of Blackthorn (or his representative), is going to cause the system to come crashing down. We have a two-term governor on GL who has only been able to make it to a few meetings because she works at the day/time the EMs chose. It's unfortunate that she doesn't get to participate, but I don't believe she should be punished for real life taking precedence over a game. An easy way to "solve" this "issue" is to allow for governors to appoint a Vice Governor/Viceroy/Seneschal/Trained Mongbat who can sit in their chairs. Problem solved.

Have you ever been to a meeting with one or two Governors in attendance? And maybe one or two citizens.

It is an hour out of the EM schedule. They should either enforce the rules or get rid of the Governors Meeting. The EM could have that hour to do something more productive .

Why simply solve problems in a timely fashion with commonsense fixes when the devs can cook up some convoluted solution that won't happen until six months after the heat death of the universe and will only sort of work anyway?

Like sure guys, work on integrating the governor trade deal crap with VvV. In the meantime can you slap some new arties into doom or turn treasures of tokuno back on or whatever so we actually have something to do while you squander dev time on your nearly-meaningless pet projects?
