Following you will find a brief description on how to get around lag probs on DF.
This was originally posted by a player on stratics UHall-and it seems to work.
So, here we go...
The DF servers are hosted in the UK and have several ports.
typically a port address looks like this:
159.153.156.151
the last three digits vary between 150 and 159 and indicate the server port you are logged on to.
154 is the faulty one. (some players reported 156 to be faulty as well)
so how to find out the server port you have:
You need a DOS command line. (Since I still use Windows XP I dunno how to do that in Vista or 7)
Type in "cmd" (enter)
and then "netstat" (enter)
the system will give you a list of all Network connection channels.
If you are logged in to UO there will be a network address looking like this:
xxx.xxx.xxx.???:5001
This is your server connection to UO.
The three questions marks before the 5001 is what we are interested in.
If you find 154 there (or maybe 156) - relog - check again until you get another port.
That´s it.
Hope this will help.
And no, I´m not a computer expert - just repeated what I read on the forums. ^^
