Where did these sort of containers come from? I have not been able to find anything about them but I like the fact you can dye them with special dyes .

It was a glitch from a while ago, that caused them to take on the properties of the wood they were crafted from like Peekay said.

When the special properties for the wood was first introduced to give bonuses for weapons/armor.. for a short time all furniture and anything using special wood (I have a spell channeling runed switch for example)... would also gain those attributes. If you dye one of these items it will lose it's special wood notation, but retain the properties.
