It's Lissbet at Oaks, not Melissa. I do that one myself, though I personally I find it a little creepy that we are taking a young girl to go live with her "grandpa", who lives alone in the boonies with only a SINGLE SHEEP as a companion....
I also do the Trinsic island rescues a lot, too, and want the other cities back. For that matter, I'd like to see the "an Inn", "a Tavern", "any Healer shop", and "Any City" escorts from before ML back. Note that Rescues (be it Trinsic area, Yew/cove/vesper area, the orc mine prisoner, the Sacrifice prisoner in ilshenar, etc.) do NOT have the 5 minute timer. IF you find 3 going to the same city on Trinsic island on a mage, with a little luck, you can get one of them, cast gate, deliver, get reward, run back through (or recall), get the next, use the SAME gate to deliver, and repeat with the 3rd, provided the "gate gods" don't give you cohesion problems (recalling back reduces them, but you need a mark really close to the gate)
There's another couple ways for quick escorts.
1. Most shards have a moongate on Nujelm that works for LEAVING ONLY. On Lake Austin, it's behind the Blacksmiths, south of the Cemetary. I've also heard of it being behind the castle on some of the shards where it isn't at the LA location. Recall to Nujelm, get an escort, and use the gate to deliver. From there, just recall, wander town to find another escort, and repeat (escorts tend to be fairly scattered in Nujelm, so you might spend the 5 minutes between them just FINDING your next one).
2. The Scroll option. Find the following for your non-mage
A. A supply of Gate Travel scrolls (and a city runebook, which you probably already have)
B. A +magery spellbook (preferably the +15 Magic Tome of lost Knowledge from ToT)
C. A +15 Magery Bracelet & a +15 Magery Ring.
(optional: borrow a Treatise on Alchemy talisman from your crafter, and a crystalline ring from your mage, for even higher magery)
Just A-C will give you 45 magery, and a 17.5% chance to successfully use a Gate Travel scroll. Note that scrolls are only used on success (and go off as a spell 2 levels lower that the real spell, for success chance. 5th level spells, cast from book, are 17.5% at 45 skill). I got 2 dexxers to knight of compassion with this method in 2007, before deciding that it was less hassle just to do Bravehorn & Lissbet, but to each his own...
Note: back before ML, when most escorts would NOT use the public moongates, you could also have AS MANY rescue escorts as you wanted. As long as you stayed within 4-5 steps of your escorts, you wouldn't use them crossing overland server lines (though they wouldn't enter dungeons unless gated in). I once walked FIVE escorts from Trinsic Barrier Island north, THROUGH Britain (dropping off one there, and rescuing 2 more south of the swamp), over to Cove (dropped 2 off), North to Minoc (delivered the one I rescued north of Britain, but lost one escort to minoc from Trinsic from it timing out), and delivered the last two to Vesper.
Got all 5 escorts in during one overland trip, crossing multiple server lines and even replacing one that timed out with a rescue (and had a spare delivered for good measure).
