Castle placement limits?

Wondering if anyone knows about obstacles allowed in the courtyard of current castles.

Basically I know trees and such used to be allowed, but this was when recalling into the courtyard was allowed. When courtyard recalling was eliminated, did it also eliminate the ability to place a castle with trees and such in the courtyard? Or can this still be done, even today?

You can still place with trees in the courtyard.

I think as long as a tree isn't next to a wall it's ok, but I'm not totally sure on this. I know some trees are ok, the skinny ones with no dirt at their base, and some you just can't place next to (the other kind).
