Carpentry and bowyer

How much carpentry needs to a boyer to use oak logs? To make shifts, for example.
I have 0 carpentry and 100 fletching but i can't make nothing with oak logs. I can use only normal logs.

It would have been nice if arrows/bolts gained properties from the special materials used. Not doing that was a missed opportunity for archery and fletching.

yea what i hate is if you make arrows/bolts from colored wood. They look the same as regular arrows/bolts but they wont stack.
