For general use, swords of prosperity due to the luck.
IF you're going to be going to fight undead, the Staff of Pyros (event item from the destruction of Magincia) is effectively an undead slayer version of the SotM.
Jaana's staff (-20 Mage weapon with 220 luck and 15% DCI) is okay as well, especially if you're using an Alchemists bauble instead of an Orny and have some other sort of magery bonus.
I personally use the Swords, and have a couple of +magery jewels and a selection of mage weapon bows, that allow me to pour on ranged damage without depleting my mana pool in group hunts (I use the mana for earth eles, healing party members and healing their pets). Of course, it doesn't hurt having GM tactics and chiv to pile on the damage.
