AoE on Cu and life steal

Does the energy AoE on Cus contribute to the Life Steal ability?
Also, has anyone bben able to put both AI and AoE on anything? I find that if I pick one the option for another disappears.

I put life steal on one of my older cu's and I have yet to see it do a thing... I will have to re-train another.

Yeah, I am not sure how to tell if it works or not. I maxed the HPR on mine, so I can't tell the difference.
