According to lore, there are three traditional foods for the Festival of the Way: Spring Soup, Brittany Bread and Thaumaturge Pie. I am including descriptions of each of these delicacies in case any of you would be interested in preparing one or more of these on the day of the Festival. I may be one of the few grandmaster chefs in Britannia (that keeps the title on), but I am not giving you actually recipes here, only descriptions. You can use your own culinary instincts. If you'd like, and you have a tested recipe that you'd like to share with the Baja community, feel free to post it right here on this thread! Include pictures of your culinary masterpiece if you'd like.

I think we are making Ultima Online history here - real-life traditional food based upon an in-game event. Of course, I will do my best to see that these foods are served at the Festival in-game as well. Bon appetit! And Happy Festival!

Spring Soup. Spring Soup is nothing more or less than a simple soup using some of the fresh vegetables of springtime, a soup perfect for throwing together quickly over a campfire alongside the road. Typical versions include a good clear broth, leeks and carrots, and tender young spinach leaves. Baby peas are also sometimes added. Some like to add a bit of rice. In parts of Britannia, a splash of cream is added to thicken the soup and make it creamy. In Cove and Vesper, the young spinach leaves are omitted and asparagus tips are used in their place.

Brittany Bread is a thick-crusted, braided loaf that is sold in and around Britain in the Springtime. It is flavored with the chervil, tarragon and parsley that grow abundantly around Britain. Some add lavender to the mix, and some add a touch of honey. The Four probably packed a loaf or two for the road.

When Dawn was a city that existed in the ether, moonsberries grew there wildly. Moonsberries have been described as slightly larger than a typical grape, though pure white and pearlescent, with a smooth and pleasant texture and a taste not unlike a mixture of fresh cream and sweet strawberries. In their mourning, the people of Dawn gathered all the moonsberries they could and baked them into square pies, square pies being a typical sign of mourning in the magic city. Since moonsberries are very difficult to obtain (although they do sometimes grow at the base of moongates, especially during particularly rainy summers), a mock Thaumaturge Pie can be made by preparing an eggless vanilla pudding pie flavored with a strawberry liqueur. As for the shape, though some still stay with the traditional squares, often enough, basic circular pies are made.

I may be one of the few grandmaster chefs in Britannia (that keeps the title on)....
My GM chef on Baja, runs around with her title on too. She just doesn't show her face on Baja very often anymore. It's become a rather chilly place to play recently if you don't role play or belong to the "right" guilds. When you make posts here on the forums to help with events and they are always ignored, I guess you quickly get the message that you just don't belong on Baja.

As one of the four that will be apart of teh event I would like to say I am sorry for any past wrong doing. Any help that you can give that would make this event the best that it can be would be great. Thank you Zorax

No one should make you feel that way. This is your shard as much as it is ours. And if we roleplayers have somehow made you feel unwelcome (as you have implied in several threads now) then let me extend my apologies on behalf of the community.

...But lets not derail someone elses thread to express ones own personal greviences. Alright? Thanks.

Raw - just cause you made me laugh, I have apples for you. See me in-game.

My contribution:

Spring Soup - one gypsy, marinate, add carrots and mandrake. Simmer.

Brittany Bread - one brigand, chop finely add to basic dough recipe. Shape, brush with butter, bake.

Thaumaturge pie - are there real thaumaturges in that? *tries to think of a necro she doesn't like...*

Let me know if you need necro's for the Thaumaturge pie. I know one that I am sure would turn into a pie very well. Oh and by the by the gypses seem to be gone so I guess you are out your soup.
