"Oh Christmas tree, oh christmas tree ..." she continues humming the tune while she sat there gazing at the magificent Giving Tree that had magically appeared one day (after the seeds had been planted which the elf didn't know about). She seemed to be wondering why no one was guarding the tree from those pesky little insects that invaded it from time to time. She continued to hum to herself as she contemplated the days events and smiled as she remembered the Tree Guardian's appearance. So many people there she had hesitated entering the enclosed area for fear of being trampled on by so many hoofs and even dragon's tails! She had remained outside watching and placing her little gifts on the ground, as humble as they might be, in hopes that the spirit of the season found it's way into everyones heart.
She looked upon the tree once more and sadden slightly having heard rumors that it would soon be gone. She closed her eyes tightly and made her Christmas wish. Her wish was a simple one and not very tasking she thought, she was sure Santa could grant one tiny wish to this tiny elf. All she wanted for Christmas was for the tree to live on, perhaps as a reminder that the joy of giving was what Christmas was all about. She smiled and looked up into the highest branches of the tree where the fruit seemed to ripen and begin to fall. She jumped as fast as she could to catch it, but alas she had only drifted into a slight sleep, for as she tripped on the log, she woke up.
She giggled to her self as she dusted off and looked upon the tree once more. Maybe Santa would be to busy to grant her wish and that would be alright, but if she could she would steal a branch or two before the tree vanished for all time. She craved into her mind a memory of the First Giving Tree she had ever seen, now she had the image in her mind from now until eternity.
She climbed up into the safety of the branches and promptly fell asleep.
