Just curious but what do you use the shadow stone to make the custom house pieces? I see it used on all of the custom houses but I don't see why since it looks out of place wouldn't regular stone match the original stone much better? or maybe dull copper

A lot of people like the shadow colour better. It doesn't really matter if it clashes with the original keep, what they deco it with is usually well suited to shadow stuff. At least in the places I have seen.
