Parry with Throwing

I've heard this explained several different ways.

So how does it work.

If you have a shield on a thrower, and have 100 parry, does it negate the hit chance penalty? what about 120 parry?

I tried this on a pvm char with 150 dex 120 parry, and i seemed to miss ALOT. took the shield off and it was fine.

sounds like it's bugged if you miss as if you have 0 parry and use a shield with throwing.

Maybe the bug is throwing and parry with no shield makes you never miss because that's what it seems like.

I tried the same thing last week Cetric, had a 120/120 throw/parry guy with 150 dex. I even had HCI over capped by 12% to negate the under-thrown penalty (still confused about that too btw) and couldn't hit a damn thing while a shield was equipped. :(

Seems like that the Devs want throwers to have bushido/ninja also? Lose the shield or miss your target all the time.

The throwing with a shield equipped hit chance penalty is not a penalty to HCI but the hit chance formula. The penalty with 120 Parry is a 20% reduction. So if one has a 100% chance to hit without a shield using throwing, they will now have a 80% chance to hit with the shield equipped. :next:

Ahh... so just to be clear, you cannot completely negate the penalty, correct?

so say at 45hci in the hit chance and your opponent has 45dci, you would normally have a 50% chance to hit. Would this then be a 40% chance? Ehh regardless. 20% is a pretty hefty blow

I played around with this too, but appaerently a thrower with a shield is no feasible template.

Real shame!
