[Discussion] Trade forum policy change regarding the sale of glacial items

Hello everyone,

The moderation team has received confirmation from Mesanna that there has been an in-game rule change regarding the legality of owning some glacial items that were previously legal to own.

Effective June 1st, 2023 (to allow those of you in the middle of selling the items here some time to complete your sales) the following items may not be bought or sold on Stratics because they will be reverted to hue 0 (normal color) in-game if a GM catches you with them. The color reversion is already happening in-game.

- Glacial Pickaxe
- Glacial Dagger
- Glacial Skinning Knife
- Glacial Mace (not the arctic death dealer that spawns in-game, the plain one)
- Glacial Staff (not the one that spawns in game)
- Any glacial item that is made out of cloth (pants, bandana, cloak, robe, sash etc.)

Glacial spellbooks are still LEGAL to own and are permitted to be bought and sold on Stratics.

Glacial hair dye is still LEGAL to own and is permitted to be bought and sold on Stratics.

Glacial items created and named by EM's for their events are still LEGAL to own and are permitted to be bought and sold on Stratics.

I feel like this is blatantly missing the mark with addressing real game issues. It's like that horrible train derailment in Ohio with all those chemicals. The government coming out to address the issue and future plans to ensure it never happens again by making sure all train engines will now be painted blue. Like seriously, how out of touch does the UO leadership need to be before we finally get competent leadership for once. Messana is so out of touch, it comes to question if she cares more about her social relevance than actually building a long term solution that'll ensure the longevity of such a great potential game.
