If they did that then a player could name a newly tamed rat or pig etc.,:
SEVENFAITH IS A _____________!
...park the rat or pig in front of your house on a trial account, then log off and leave it there forever... (or until the owner could return at their convenience and feed it to keep it tame and in place).
Just think of the hours of fun and entertainment your enemies would have at your expense!
And the number of pages to GMs about the pets being used to harrass not only you but scores of other players all across UO!
I can appreciate the 'unloaded pets log with their owner' feature because it cuts down on one form of harrassment and numerous GM pages but I don't pvp.
Logging to save your pet during pvp can't be classified as cheating since it's using a game mechanic as intended.
Guess it's just another one of those cute little UO loopholes like...
magic pitchers...
doggy duped gold and fuzzy blue clothing...
exploit ethereal cloaks...
being able to pass through locked doors in public houses as a ghost...
black faction guard horses anyone can ride...
I'm sure there's others I can't recall as well.
I don't own any of the above named items myself but I have used the magic pitcher.
I can't say anything further about that other loophole though on the grounds that it may incriminate me, lol.
But seriously now would it still be UO without it's cute little Easter Egg Loopholes?
