Your pets, when YOU die.

I think that your pets should not remain in your 'stables' when you die, log off and log back in.

They could go in your stables while you are logged off, but as soon as you log back in, they should appear by you in my opinion.

Discuss.

*Looks around carefully and speaks in low tones*

Shh yourself there,SevenFaith, lest you provoke the wrath and indignation of the Magestic and Rightous Tamer. Tempt them not to come and speak words, saying,"Oh,lowly (your template here),such a mortal mind,as you have, can not fathom the depths of the worthiness of the Tamer. How can one such as yourself come to the knowledge that we,as Tamers, must spend hours upon hours taming the bull and the gamman.Such toil and hardship is beyond your reckoning."

*coughs a little to clear his throat and looks around all nervous-like to make sure no ones listening*

"Always remember there,Sevenfaith, that tamers are better than you,and as such, deserve much praise and adoration for being...tamers. Please,SevenFaith,do not anger the gods of Sosaria unless you wish to receive the flames of a thousand G-Dragons."

*Backs away from SevenFaith slowly, turns around and runs off into the night* /Epic Sarcasm

Wouldn't concern me in the least, I don't use logging out to save pets and certainly don't support that practice in PvP. If you don't have the guts to see a fight out, IMO you shouldn't be in Fel.

I have to agree with Wenchy here...i dont use the log out /back in thing eather unless my pet is stuck somewhere or runs off again...

i am not sure if the problem is that much trouble to nerf the intire thing.
But thats just my 2 cents :)

Think about this a tick.

Tamer gets his Greater Dragon to eat him. Tamer dies.

Dead Tamer runs into active Fel Champ spawn. Tamer logs out. Tamer logs in.

Should or should not Dragon be dragged to unharmable Tamer's location?

If they did that then a player could name a newly tamed rat or pig etc.,:

SEVENFAITH IS A _____________!

...park the rat or pig in front of your house on a trial account, then log off and leave it there forever... (or until the owner could return at their convenience and feed it to keep it tame and in place).

Just think of the hours of fun and entertainment your enemies would have at your expense!

And the number of pages to GMs about the pets being used to harrass not only you but scores of other players all across UO!

I can appreciate the 'unloaded pets log with their owner' feature because it cuts down on one form of harrassment and numerous GM pages but I don't pvp.

Logging to save your pet during pvp can't be classified as cheating since it's using a game mechanic as intended.

Guess it's just another one of those cute little UO loopholes like...

magic pitchers...

doggy duped gold and fuzzy blue clothing...

exploit ethereal cloaks...

being able to pass through locked doors in public houses as a ghost...

black faction guard horses anyone can ride...

I'm sure there's others I can't recall as well.

I don't own any of the above named items myself but I have used the magic pitcher.

I can't say anything further about that other loophole though on the grounds that it may incriminate me, lol.

But seriously now would it still be UO without it's cute little Easter Egg Loopholes?

:)

With 300+ intelligence you'd think you could just give your dragons a recall rune and tell them to recall to it when they're about to die. Doesn't 300+ intelligence mean they're twice as smart as the smartest human anyway? :)

But not smart enough to keep themselves from being tamed by one half as smart as they are.

They just want you to think that you tamed them, it's all part of their master plan to take over the world. They're really studying human habits to determine whether we'll make useful slaves.

Me thinks that is what the OP wants to do ;)
