You shouldn't be put in stat if a non orange interferes with the kill. Like if the non orange does like 40% of the damage, you should not be put in stat. It's pretty lame when blues interfere with faction fighting.

I think your asking too much from the devs....keep it simple (and hope they don't screw that up). It works both ways. I've had faction mates who did 90% of the damage and only to have a blue come in and take the kill shot, saving the person from stat loss and no kill points awarded. I guess in the end it all works out. My advice is that if your going to PVP in Fel, go ahead and join factions, unless your either in a tiny guild with no support or a total jerk and everyone kills you.
