Why not make winning the Mag Lottery worth while?
Do I really feel like having to destroy a residence to reside in Mag?
Am I going to buy another account just to have a Mag home?... no way.


It might be nice if the houses for the winners, only the winners, not the transfered guy, but the winner, to have the house without it condeming another house.

It is saying here is a 15x15 plot you can have if you dump your 18x18 and blah blah.

Does anyone really want a house in Mag? I do, but not a the cost of another home.

Could the DEVS consider this as an option please?

Why do this? If you really want to make the lottery work and be a gold sink... give the winner a 2nd house on their account. That is going to generate a lot more buzz and excitement then you win... drop your other house.


Sure I am going to participate eitherway but as is... its just to win as many as possible and sell them... how droll.

Now if it was something I could actually build up and reside in... Id drop a 100 million.

I think you could judge by Messanna's reaction to the suggestion how this request will be handled. A resounding no. Grandfathered houses almost seem to be some kind of peeve from what I saw from the video.

i only own castles, keeps and a 17 by 17 inside luna walls, id be taking a big storage hit if i gave something up for a mag house.... i don't see why the castles in malas are grandfathered but these aren't...

Lots of reasons this sucks really.

Im still playing to resell. But as I said, Id dump a whole lot more for a reason to own it.

15x15, 16x15, 18x18... I dont want to move and condem my Ter Mur Commerce center.

I have no need for the Mag house plot but to win it and sell it to the highest bidder.


Anyone that thinks Mag will be anything more then a bunch of houses is mistaken. Might as well run an auction for all that unused land in MALAS.

If you care enough about Magincia, you should be willing to either lose an existing house or open up another account and transfer an existing house to it. If you just want to add a Magincia house to your collection of houses, do what the rest of us do when wanting another house - open up another account.

If they started grandfathering an additional 44 Magincia houses on the main shards and 22 on Siege, then a can of worms is opened up, because I would like a grandfathered house or two, and if you're going to do it for up to 44 people per shard who either got lucky in a lottery or threw a bunch of money at the southern plots, then don't stop there.

It's already ridiculous enough as it is that so many dev resources are being devoted to such a small number of houses per shard with New Magincia. Grandfathering those would be even more ridiculous, especially given that a lot of them will probably end up in the hands of powergamers/gold sellers/etc. who really don't care about Magincia and who care only about making money off of the houses.

The magincia houses should not count towards the normal cap with an allowing only 1 magincia house per acct.. otherwise wth is the point. other than maybe atlantic, there is PLENTY of housing.

The point is no one cares about Mag. Im not sure what your worry is with a can of worms being opened. Its equal lottery for all that enter. You win you get it. You lose you dont. You cant transfer the grandfatherdness. It is bound to the winning account. You can give away the plot ticket but it wont be and extra house etc etc.

But this wont happen anyway. My point is much more thought has to go into UO then extra dyes and 15x15 plots. They just aren't that exciting.

Id rather have Mag be a hot bed of random monsters and chaos. But that is me.

I really like the Magincia rebuilding, Except that all of the houses will be the same size... its like a housing developement. If i win, i will just sell the ticket (sold my abyss win for kinda cheap just because i hate moving)

I have a feeling that Magincia will become a "mini luna" so even the southern houses might be worth hundreds of mils. I wont, but i can see many many players dropping huge amounts of gold on these southern houses. Really i think the southern houses should have a limit of one bid per account just like the rest, so the billionares wont have the advantage.

I'm not about to move to Magincia... Unless they show me some reason for wanting to uproot I really don't care.

If we were all forced into the lottery, then yes, i'd want that.

But as we are not forced, I think its just unfair to the many who will not get lucky.

I really don't get why people are complaining so much because the max size is 15x15. What's the max house size in Luna? This is a house in a city. Sure it would be nice to get at least one 18x18, but looking at the size of the city and everything it might very well screw up the layout and remove possible housing spots in the city. I don't care about lockdowns or size of the house. For me it's about location. I for one would take a house in a nice city regardless of the size.

At this point, I'm not really interested in entering the lottery because I just don't know how much longer I'll play and having a vendor house is nowhere to be found on my current list of in-game priorities. However, I am curious about whether or not the houses in Fel Magincia will end up inside a guard zone or will all be close enough to a guard zone to allow you to stand inside the guard zone while shopping. I'm also curious about where the sigil post and town stone will be located, as well as the moongate and the bank. I'm also wondering if there will be any difference in the labeling of deco plants grown in Magincia to indicate if they were grown in Felucca or in Trammel.

Also, is there any news yet on whether the unique buildings that used to be located in Magincia are going to be replaced?
