Yomotsu Mines... spawning gold piles?...

What's up with these? Roughly 30 or so gold in a pile, just randomly spawns throughout the mines. Not a leftover from a corpse as I just watched one pop into existence.

Has always done that, I didn't design the game so I wont speculate as to why it does, just always has.

For as long as I have used the Mines for training (max 15 months) it has always done that.

The small piles of gold have been spawning since the beginning. I am guessing it's a gold mine. Have you ever wondered where monsters get their gold that us wandering adventurers wantonly kill them for? Tada!

Spent as lot of time outside it during ToT 2 and a quick run through to get a fire beetle with a friend, but I've never spent any significant amount of time there until ToT 3.

Why do random leather pieces spawn on the ground at the tokuno spawn?

The pieces of leather armor are from the corpses of either death watch beetles or their hatchlings. For some reason the corpses poof but any leather armor they held doesn't.

Erm, if you are talking about the mines, the gold spawn in piles of 20 to 30 gp. Nothing larger.

Ah! That's right, I had totally forgotten about this and was wondering why there were so many female leather armour on the ground as well...

I don't think thats accurate. There would be a HELL of a lot more leather armor on the ground.

Non magical loot from low level mobs. Actually, even high level mobs have certain designated non magical drops - ninjas and ronins always have a couple of non magical weapons and armour.

I was wondering about this as well, as I wanted to say "hard-coded" drops in my previous post. But if so, there would be much more. I am guessing that even the drop is random and picked from a treasure list as per normal. But the treasure list for the hatchling beetles contains only a list female leather armour.

The big deathwatch beetles actually have bottles of poison on them iirc.

The small piles of gold in the mines are stealable. They come in various weights that are good for stealing gains while thieves in training are there to steal the Tok artifacts.
