yet another return

Hello, I've been back in UO for about a week now. I've had time to get the feel of some of the changes since I left (sometime during the age of shadows expansion) and I was an active player for several years before that.


I want to eventually get back into pvp but am going to need to gear up a bunch ... I've spent some time farming treasures relics and wasting my gold on other items that only add up to an ok suit.

I'm kind of limited at the moment because without a guild I only have my personal mules and living space, and i'm having trouble restocking on many of the consumeables I would like to carry (orange petals, pots, etc).

I would appreciate it if someone would be willing to show me some good shops and help me find farming groups for champions/new dungeons.

My template is currently that of a classic mage 120 mage med eval wrestle, 100 inscription. and that could probably use some updating too once I get a feel for what works now.

There are plenty of people here willing to help, and while I am not fully entrenched in Atl (basically I can not really help you with a suit and what have you due to low funds currently.) I am available for hunting or any general questions you may have, just give me a PM here on stratics and I will be more than happy to help you.

I have a load of extra pots and purple leaves (str) because of my thief, courtesy of the pvpr's at Yew gate. As soon as my poppies start producing resources, I'll have a supply of orange petals as well. I may also have an extra suit, but since I'm starting my first pvp char (well, since you had to start wearing something other than chainmail on a tank mage), I can't tell you how good it is for that .

I also have extra items like runebooks, recalls, repair scrolls, and fortification powder. I wouldn't mind giving you some things to help you get started...just my way of passing on the favor that was done me when I started playing again. The link that was posted above this post has a list of some very good shops in it, and there are a few others. I could even get a runebook together for you with a lot of the shops in it if you'd like.

I do know that most people suggest necro mage as a good magic-related pvp template. Other than that, I really couldn't offer you a lot of help as far as pvp so hopefully someone else will reply that could offer more specific advice on that.

Frankly if you have an okay LRC suit and skills...you won't find that you have missed too much as a mage. If you were a dexxer or otherwise, I would beg to differ. Inscription mage still works too. The landscape has changed as you put it...but that's easily explored. Just give a shout should you want to hunt or need items. I have a plethora.
