Wrong Dungeon Revamp

  • Loot items from this dungeon now use the New Loot Generator
  • Mobs in Wrong can drop Mondain’s Legacy items, but not Gargoyle items
  • New and tougher mobs
  • Prisoner Escort: gain Compassion more rapidly by escorting prisoners out of Dungeon Wrong
  • Bedrolls: Search prisoners’ bedrolls to see what they’ve been up to
  • The Prison of Nightmares
  • You start in a cell in the center
  • Can you find your way through a maze of vanishing walls?
  • Watch out for the Jailor – he will put you back in your cell!
  • Find the treasure room and steal some enchanted items
  • Watch out, these items have a security enchantment
  • You must escape with the item to lift the enchantment that binds it to the treasure room
  • New Item Property: Assassin Honed (found on items in the treasure room) – A successful hit with a weapon will provide additional bonus damage based on the attacker facing the same direction as the target. The percentage of the damage is based on the weapons original swing speed. Ranged weapons have a 50% chance to proc.

Honestly, I was hoping and expecting they'd add another floor or two to the dungeon, seeing as its too tiny to really do all that much with. They didn't, and it seems about as boring I thought it would end up being if they didn't. All they really did do is put way too many monsters into bunches of comparatively way too small areas, and lock most of the doors so its a pain in the ass for most players to get around.

Oh.. and somehow they broke some of the mountain tiles in the dungeon so they look wrong.

I found no problems but, well, it isn't fun to hunt there. Shame was a new thing so we get all excited but now... i mean, i like the blue lizardmen (wish i could be blue too) and the ogre cook with his slippery minions is cool but unless i missed something the place is boring.

In fantasy games dungeons are cool because you don't know what's in there. The new loot system grants this kind of "mystery" because you can't predict what you will find, a bit of randomization (ok, a lot of) in the mobs area could complete the picture.

I must be really dumb but I haven't found the "Prison of Nightmares" so far.

I assume it is the level 3 of Wrong. I remember there was a sparkling teleporter to get there behind the walls. After extensive searches using the "Mysterious Tunnels" I found two of them, one which sends you to level 2 the same way the regular one does, and one which doesn't work at all and sends you nowhere.

So, what now?

I think the game is this:
1) enter the tunnels (destination change randomly after some time)

2) double click the bedrolls

3) using the bedrolls you probably you find an item/tunnel or simply starts the prison nightmare

I have found and used many of those tunnels and they all send to the various areas behind the walls. One of those areas has the former level 3 teleporter, but it doesn't work.

Considering the number of bedrools I have clicked, I don't believe there is anything else in them, OR it is insanely rare.

yes I have done about 50 or so bed rolls and got zapped a lot and never found anything besides a hole

This is my experience as well. The next thing I was going to try was to create a character with rogue skills like detect hidden and remove trap to see if it yielded different results.

OK... some WRONG feedback (that just sounds bad... there must be a better phrasing). I have found the prison, and have managed to nab some items, including an assassin-honed. The problem? When I get them out, they revert to standard items... apparently whatever takes the "hot" spell off of them is also stripping other things. In addition, I am currently in the prison and the walls keep redrawing the same config. This would, I suppose, be a good thing in some circumstances... just memorize the path out. unfortunately, the sparkle that sends you back to the center is blocking the only path to the way out... leaving me stuck. Ah well.

I have also had a configuration where the north sparkle was blocking the only way out. But worst than that I have also had configuration when there was no way out at all (the exit teleporter was not linked to the rest of the maze). I'm not sure if it's a bug or a "feature".

I also have found out the maze configuration changes only when you are caught and rejailed, not when you use the north teleporter.

Finally got out with an Assassin's Edge.

They are imbuable with the "Assassin Honed" property not counting as a mod, but with a 450 imbuing cap (which is logical since they are not exceptional).

Will try to test a bit the property later...

First tests made with an Assassin's Edge with base speed 3.75:

Although I didn't use a ranged weapon, the property doesn't seem to trigger everytime, OR the damage bonus is so random that in some case it is not noticeable.

Roughly, when it is both working and noticeable, the extra damage seems to be around 20-25%. It is included in the usual damage displayed, not as a separate hit (unlike Hit spells or Velocity).

In a typical PvP situation (I hardly see how the property is of any use in PvM), I would say the extra damage should be minimal.

In normal combat situation, I don't see how you can maintain your character facing the same way as the target, unless it is done automatically (I can see a potential for yet another cheating script here), so basically the property is only going to work when attacking from stealth (so just once) or htiting a fleeing target (and since it is nerfed for ranged weapons, it won't probably matter much)

For the 50 Imbuing weight cost, chances are you will get a better deal maxing out other properties, but maybe someone will find some "creative" ideas...

To get to the nightmare prison...use one of the secret tunnels in the jail cell.
I always find mine on the west side jails..

It should bring you out behind the walls of lvl 2...
There you need to hit the jailor who will send you straight to jail...the new area..

Every time your hit in new area your sent back to the centre , so it will take some practice to get out.
Stealter is easyest but not needed..

The room you see above the chest room is the way out..just dont get hit durring or you lose the item you grabed also , it gets sent back to the treasure chest..

And some of them bedrolls hit you down to 1 hp with lightning...and im using a 70 suit..
Not sure if thats a bug or not..

ive also found that even if you have a pet or summon hit the jailors it has a chance of sending you back to your cell.

between fail escorts and locked doors this dungeon sucks. can't imagine having any fun in there as a dexxer. lizardmen give regular leather instead of spined. hungry ogres have empty bags, hm.

works great on stealther types with LP and stealing also works well if you have magic unlock/lock (lock comes in handy for locking behind when being chased)

you could also use scrolls of magic unlock on a dexer

hmm i can understand the stealther angle given the thief content...but using scrolls...you'd have to use protection as well I'd imagine. which I guess is doable but it would limit chiv spells and the like, bushido spells. hm.

might just be a dungeon for thieves.

also dont forget invise pots and confusion pots they work well for those without hiding invise to buy you time to use the scroll of unlock (dont forget even though its third level spell if read from a scroll its a level one) also another option is to make a set of jewels giving 30 magery they only weight 1 gold each and would give you 30 magery and are fast to switch out with a macro!
