To keep it on topic I found the old Renaissance Handbook, that is really quite thick and the UO Medallion Wilki gave me so many years ago.

My girlfriend called me and said, "send my a fax so I can see if my new machine is working." Being clever, I thought that I would send a pictogram, I-Heart-U. Well, instead of just a plain "I" and "U", a picture of an eye and an ewe sounded funny. I drew the pictures on a page and faxed it.

I waited for a call back to be sure that it worked, but didn't hear anything for a while. So I called, and asked if she got the fax and she said, "Yeah... but, what are you trying to tell me about sheep?"

I've always wanted to get some of that paper that's got an adhesive backing, and print large pictures of Phillips-head fasteners, then go around to this neighborhood full of in-breds I know, and put the resulting stickers over the "heart" pics of the signs "Please drive slowly - we (Heart) our children"....

There used to be commercial stickers of this available, for defacing people's "I (heart) my (insert pet here)" bumper stickers, but lawyers put a stop to those....

Oddly enough about a year ago I was browsing a local used book store and found a copy of the original UO guide...the black one with the UO symbol and the guy fighting the dragon in the middle of the O. I bought it straightaway. It's amazing how much has changed, not just mechanic's wise, but culture wise in UO.
