Words of Advice

Ok well long time off and back at it from time to time. Switched Shards since Baja is dead to Atlantic and working my new char up. Could use some suggestions though so please let me know what you think. I want archery/sword just for the sake of I get bored with just archery but love it's ability to take things down with the stick and move but love to be up close and personal as well so here's my template and would like advice on where I should gimp down to be able to pull this off. Like the chiv for traveling aspects or else I'd Bushido it.

Archery
Anatomy
Swords
Healing
Chivalry
Resisting Spells
Parry
Tactics

Thoughts?

Also this is going off of 720 skill points as well.

Sorry that you have had no replies. I'll have a go.

I think the first thing to note is that although having both Archery and Swords gives you some variety in your game play, the strength of your character will suffer greatly, as you have less skill points to spend elsewhere (and having both Swords and Archery is unnecessary, for fighting monsters at least).

So make a hard decision and choose one and not the other.

If you go Archery, drop the parry, as it does not work with that skill.

From what I understand, an easy template to make is the 'ABC Archer'. There is good advice on this template in other threads.

The other good, simple option would be:

Swords as high as possible;
Parry as high as possible;
Chivalry at around 70;
Healing at 100;
Anatomy at 100+;
Tactics at 100+; and
Resist at 100+.

A basic, close-range chivalry warrior. Can fight players or monsters. Not the best template for either but, maybe, one of the best all round warriors. Get power scrolls if you can afford them (I'm sure you can get at least +110 for free) and raise the skills as high as possible, as noted above. Get a Soulseeker weapon and shield and start looking to make a suit of armour, aiming eventually to have:

60+ is each resist;
up to 45 defence chance increase;
up to 45 hit change increase;
up to 40 lower mana cost;
'2/4' casting; and
up to 100 damage increase;

and any other modifications you find, but not lower reagent cost.

You rely on the chivalry spells Enemy of One ('EEO') and Consecrate Weapon ('CW') for damage, bandages and chivalry spells to heal and the chivalry spell divine fury to raise your stamina when it is low.

i personally enjoy this.

120 archery
120 bushido
120 tactics
110 anatomy
100 meditation
90 healing
60 chivalry

This will allow you all the perks of chivalry, divine fury, consecrate, enemy of one, (will fail it 4 outa 5 tries)
It also gives you the aility to lightning strike with bushido for ciritcal damage, and confidence to heal.

Then you can use bandages inbetween, and if you have a balanced bow, use potions aswell. On occassion throw in a chiv heal/cure and it becomes pretty hard to die, and very powerful.

I like my swords/archer.

I actually managed to fit poisoning in there too. Nothing like a bleed/dp/mortal/conc.

Oh ya, template.

120 arch
120 melee
120 tact
120 anat
80 heal (+10 on ring I use)
80 poisoning
80 med

(whats also nice about this build is you exceed 300 skill points for the natural LMC for special moves so you can be elf (+20 mana) but get the cheaper special move discount that humans get. Took me a while but up to 183 stam when I chug an agility pot. My crossbow shoots pretty damn fast and hits hard.
