just wonderin if yall know anything about this....just says Lantern , weighs 2 stones and you can click on it till Jesus comes back and it wont light..... was in with a bunch of black hallys and red scimitars so i assume it was created the same way.......but i was just wondering what is it a copy of....a friend told me it might be a copy of the one that the guy in doom has.....i took a pic holdin it and one in my pack....see what yall think about er

back in the day lanterns actually wore out. they would eventually get to the point where they would no longer illuminate. i wonder if this is one of those old worn out lanterns.

Buy Oil Flask from a provisioner. Re-fill the lantern to turn it on.

you can use an oil flask on it, i mean you target it and it vanishes but the lantern still wont light up........was worth a try!

i didn't know you could use an oil flask to recharge a lantern! years ago i remember throwing away lanterns that stopped working. i checked my stock of lanterns to see if i still had any that wouldn't light up. now here's the ironic part....all of them lit up but some of them would only stay lit -- they wouldn't go out no matter what. these were player made lanterns and were crafted from verite and valorite. guess they are buggy lanterns.

Based on a hue of 1154, my guess is that it's a doggy dupe of a season 3 Light of Virtue.

Looks a lot like my Trapped Soul Lantern when it's turned off. Doggy Dupe and I think most dog dupe items when they are duped they lose their abilities which might explain it not turning off and on.

It is true lanterns needed oil, but there were no crafted colored lanterns originally and they can't be dyed. The ore ones were a later publish along with the rest of the tinkered items in ore colors.

That's exactly what it is, when the lanternwas looted on the corpse they were unlit and could not be relit. It is a doggychangling duped lantern of the Light of Virtue. These have been on a few vendors over the years at rares fests for 20-40m.
