In the days of old, the Witch's Quest [The old Hag as most call her] used to give you some really nice items, back then Silver was the undead weapon and many a folks ran that quest to get those Silver Kryss, even the normal Kryss were nothing to cry about as many used those weapons in the PvP or PvM areas.

Today the Loot from this quest is indeed poor compare to the items we can get in Ilsh fighting Paragons or in Doom's Gauntlet since they lower the requirements so it is easier to get a artifact there. Most times when we do the Hag quest the weapon is a dagger, and when compare to a GM smith's dagger is really sad.

So when can we look at maybe getting a boost at the loot on this quest, make it fun again!

Now I sent the above in as a FoF on the feedback.

How about we boost the loot the million other things that are now junk - like treasure chests. Those require skill points.

AFAIK monster and treasure loot overhaul is in progress. It may be slowed down by the upcoming release of SA though.

Basically the whole loot needs to be adressed.

Items with 1%hci or 2DI for example shouldnt be dropping on anything that isnt in Haven.

It would help balance the economy if Elder Gazers for example started dropping loot(once enhanced armour wise) comparible to that of a gold runic hammer(if the luck rolls in your favour, otherwise its copper).

If this happens, the price of hammers would drop as the demand would dwindle. Why should i spend 20mil on a val hammer when i can go kill balrons and get the same kind of drops?

The increase in supply of said high end weapons/armour would drop the prices. This would in turn make the starting player easier to equip with semi-decent gear and overall level the playing field.

Well dont forget new people can still do the quest and it may not be junk to them. It would be easier for them to do the smaller things that are not as strong since they cant do paragons and such off the bat.

The way I see it, people do the Witch's quest for the unique decorative items it provides - not to provide themselves with a new weapon. Or if they want to see what that weird machine in the Solen hives does. ;)

Even if monsters started dropping stuff equal with properties identical to what runics would impart, they'd still lack the exceptional/arms lore bonuses that crafted stuff gets.

Why??

Just because crafting gets a bonus...why shouldn't loot??you should be able to get better items of loot than runics...otherwise whats the point of hunting?

Which is exactly how it is atm, no-one hunts because theres little point. Save the few jewels you can get.

What I'm saying is, if loot was to get a bump, it'd need to take it above what runic tools alone can provide or the whole thing'd be an exercise in pointlessness.

But to take it above what's possible with crafting "at it's best"? Then, what'd be the point in crafting? Ideally, the two systems'd be the same (keeping in mind that looted gear must be enhanced in order to reach it's full potential, though that doesn't involve BODs).

That said, I do already hunt, mostly to acquire armor with LRC on it (which I then throw at newbies). Let's face it, 100% LRC will let a player do pretty much anything in this game. Granted it doesn't make them the strongest forces out there, but they can at least participate.

There's also the extra skill points for my pets (who lose the things if I'm careless and let them die), the gold (for my ever expanding bank balance) and the fame (used to maintain Honor and Sacrifice).
