I got a bunch of them yesterday. They just don't drop as often as the shields and swords.
I'm hoping that means they'll have a higher turn in value when the time comes.

<font color="#666666">seems to come and go in waves. i couldn't find any threads for 2 days (Napa) but last night i spent about 4 hours killing (and being killed by) dark wisps and i think i got a total of 16 strings. they look a lot like strings to me. at first i was looking for the regular thread graphic, now i'm like 'YAY! string!" when i find one. </font>

Thats funny because I was thinking they look like strings too and think the same thing when I get one WOOT! string! lol

I would like to think that too. I just don't have the faith that line of common sense will make it into the turn-in.

I agree on the waves of drops, I can go for hours and see nothing then get 5 in an hour. Didn't get a thread of fate for the first week, then spent 3 days getting nothing but. It really is very random, but so rewarding sometimes to shout in guild chat "I got a string!"

And I really hope, the strings are worth anything, since the wisps are the only thing I can kill

<font color="#666666">same here! i can whack them with my warrior or cast EV's at them with my mage. it's just when those awful green blobs attack me or the angel things spot me that i die. or when 3 wisps gang up on me at once like they did a couple times last night. i've been trying to lure a couple of wisps into a building and shutting the door. that makes it easier to kill them since nothing else will disturb you, except for the occasional revenant or flesh golum when they spawn out of the floor. i'm glad the green blobs can't open doors! usually they're lining the walls of the buildings outside, while i'm inside attacking wisps.</font>
