On the context menu for container security wouldn't it be nice if you could "target player"?

That way players could run a hostel/hotel/newb training area or what have you. Or simply as a helpful way to organize a multi-player vendor house.

I think it would be an excellent addition to the game.

Aye it would be. Currently, most owners housing multiple players give each of the tenants a lockable chest with the key to said chest. So tenants only have access to their own locked chest. It's not as convenient as a secured chest since you need the key on each of the various characters of your account to access the content of the chest but at least, it works!

That said, I dont think it would be overly difficult to achieve what you are suggesting. We already have a somewhat similar mechanic with the vendor. Place the vendor deed, adjust rental settings and target the player who will be running the vendor. Then only said player and his alt chars can access the vendor content. The exact same thing could be done for a chest. Enough people complain about not having sufficient lockdowns. Players with plenty could start renting storage space

If the servers don't even have enough storage space to store more stable slots, this has absolutely no chance.
It's a great, altho very complicated idea, you'd effectively have to give each secure container it's own friends list. Huge strain on server storage space, massive job implementing it, and altho handy I'm not sure it's a usable feature in the long run. Imagine maintaining all that as a player?

You don't have to give it a friends list. It would be the owner and whoever was targeted. If people can have vendors this would be no issue.
