Just got this same warning when I tried to open up my UO Assist. I also run Avast.

Most likely is a false positive. Try another scanner or two and see if it's still getting flagged.

Heya.

The avast! definitions version 4.8.1281.0 and GData version 19 are flagging UOAssist.exe as Win32:Swizzor-N. All other AV solutions worth mentioning are not flagging this file.

I have downloaded and analysed the latest copy of UOAssist.exe on the Tugsoft website and it makes no suspicious system changes; just changes I expect to see during a normal installation of UOAssist.

This is a false-positive and should be reported to those AV vendors for resolution.

Unfortunately this is fairly common with freeware anti-virus solutions; they tend to have a higher false-positive rate on files than others.

For the record, the GData scanner which also detects UOAssist.exe as a virus uses the avast! scanning engine, so technically it is only being detected by avast!

I have sent an email to avast! with the technical details of this false-positive. Hopefully this will be corrected in the next update of their definitions file.

now uoassist dont start, restoring from container dont work,what to do now ????

Exactly my problem, Rock.
I moved to one of my other computers to play while this isnt fixed...
But I do hope it gets fixed.
I dont feel like turning off AV to download or run uoassist.

Wow, that i call a fast help,i send this false message to avast, got an update and all works again. i am impressed

Can confirm UOAssist.exe is, once again, not detected by any anti-virus program incorrectly as Swizzor. Download it again and reinstall if you're unable to get it to work after putting it in the virus vault.

I remember years ago when McAfee gave false positives at work - scared the crud outta all of us. The product it was reporting? Microsoft Office97 installation CD from the MS Developers Network subscription. The AV stuff in it was compressing in such a way as to trigger the false positive.

Once we figured it out, it was a good laugh.

avast is actually pretty good, no need to pay for something when it gets the job done, a few glitches here or there but a thumbs up overall

aye, if anything i find it slightly better than some of the paid AV options.

Any AV software can give a false positive, and as has already been mentiones some of the biggest names will do it for some really strange things (I can't remember if it was nortons or mcaffee that flagged up key windows files as infected at one point, under certain combinations of windows, the AV software and it's definitions).

I've had avast stop things I know were viruses that have been sent via msn from people with up to date Norton's in the past (one of the msn self spreading things - my brother in law got it on his machine despite having a fully up to date norton's installed).
