Probably after they finish their move. I suspect end of January, mid Feb.

They will have to come out on TC first anyway so we'll have plenty of notice.

See, you have a MUCH more positive attitude than I do. I'm figuring that just about the time there's at least one artifact for every man woman and child in UO.. smiths will suddenly get runic hammers with semi-decent uses. By then it will be far too late.

"Well, I can try and make you a tunic.. oh, wait, you and everyone else already have the Armor of Fortune. Um.. well.. crap."

This may be the most convoluted method I've ever seen to stop the gold faucet from flowing. We'll shut off bags of sending, tell players we WISH that scripting would stop.. and then we'll let Doom suddenly burst forth with a veritable fountain of artifacts.

Maybe they missed the back end of the faucet, the never-ending shield script.. I dunno. And yes, it now changes to the never-ending dull copper plate gloves script. Blah.

And then.. after the dust settles, and everyone has either dragged out all the arties they want, or purchased them with script gotten gold.. smiths will suddenly be able to make reasonably useful items with their runic hammers.

The timing just sucketh.. again.

Awwwwww poor Lilac The Glass is Three Quarters Empty.

I think this glut of artifacts will be followed by a re-structuring, possibly some turn-ins for other things (like a rebuild Magincia fund.)

But we'll see. You cannot tell me you won't be thrilled to create an artifact-level, tagged item from... say an agapite hammer.

Now wouldn't it be nice for us to be able to NAME our artifacts if they were exceptional? So if we get something that has more than 3 high level properties we can decide the name of the artifact.

I'm still working on my full runic hammer collection. Thus far I have my DC through Gold and 10, 15, and +60 ASH (519 charges left from using to "attempt" to enhance items... you'd think with 180.0 smithing you'd be able to enhance something...)

I have my LBOD for my VAL and the LBOD +1 small for my VER, but nothing on the AG yet I don't think.

The day the post was made about the runic changes, I went out and bought every runic hammer that was for sale on Atlantic. I've actually had to re-distribute the storage of my houses to accomdate the number of runic hammers I have now. I even found someone selling gold hammers for 19,700gold (there were 12 of them).

Jeremy posted something about it coming in Janurary, as long as it passes through QA ok.....
