will imbuing kill blacksmithing?

so with leather armor being superior to smithed armor due to weight requirements, are weapons about to be killed from blacksmithing too?

From what little I know of imbuing, it sounds like folks will be able to have much more control over the attributes and power of weapons without the need of blacksmithing... Will blacksmiths be completely obsolete with SA or am I hopefully missing something?

Some people swear smith armor is superior, because they can make mage armor Samurai plate with DUPED Valorite Hammers with higher minimum properties than with the leather runics.

As for weapons, the weapons to be broken down, as well as the ones that will be added to, will BOTH still need to be crafted or looted, so there's still plenty of job security for the Smith - especially in the area of making the thousands of runic items that a person in imbuing training will be breaking down and making junk slightly better, as part of the training.

It will take at least 1 item WITH properties, to give the ingredients that will be necessary to imbue something else, to attempt to get an Imbuing gain.

Lastly, not everyone will want to use an item that will, eventually, be unusable from being too low in durability, that it will break (with no way of powdering it).

I could see a good market for low end runic hammers for ingrediants.

I been buying up low end fletcher and carp tools as well, and filling spine runic kit BODs.

The smith bods that I never bothered with before because they gave low hammers, I am now filling and stashing away on BOD vendor storage books. I have almost 2 houses full of loot to unravel, so I will have no shortage of ingredients - and will get the early trng gains. Then I will start using the low end runics to craft items to imbue.

What I dread is how much a PS120 is going to cost trammie crafters like myself. The PvP guild that get s the first dozen or so on their shard will be a VERY, Very rich...

On the brighter side, It will take a while to make GM, so maybe along the way I can imbue some nice items and sell them to finance my future PS purchase

I fully agree that Imbuing will be a great ADDITION to Blacksmithing rather then a replacement. Use up bunch of runics hammers to make as many items as you can, then unravel the bad ones and use the mats to imbue more stats on the good ones. PROFIT!
