Wierdness in turn-ins, and commentary

Wierdness: So I appraised an item today, said it was worth 100 points.
I threw the item in the secured trash can, waited three minutes and POOF!
But then, the system tells me I have received 250 points in Clean Up Brittania!
I am CERTAIN this is the only thing I've turned in so far; its been so long since I even HAD a trash can that I had to place a new one.

Commentary: Seems like spring cleaning and similar events always inspire me to redecorate my house. Am I alone in this?

Definitely alone in that. I HATE redesigns and doing deco. I love my house design at the moment but in 2 years I still haven't finished the deco.

Still need to do my vendor/crafting house. Poor dirt patch looks so boring
