Wierd pings.

Is anyone else pining really high to east coast shards and significantly lower to west coast shards? Right now the log in page says I am pinging 156 to GL, 187 to LS, 95 to Sonoma and origin, 99 to Pacific, and 138 to Europa and Drachenfels.

I live in the Midwest and usually ping lowest to GL so I am confused as to why I have been getting a lower ping to Europa and west coast shards that Midwest shards.

I havent had great pings since they switched to he cloud either, but starting about 4 days ago it has became unplayable.

My game time is set to expire in 2 days. Do I need to worry about paying for another 30 days? I am pushing 1 week of pinging 100+ to every shard. Why pay for a service that is unplayable.

Maintenance mode time...I've been pinging 100-150 for awhile now..not sure if it's my ISP or EA servers..it's just strange that I ping perfectly fine in Darkfall/Rift/Planetside..hrm! Think I answered my own question..

Ping is normal right after server up. Somewhere around early morning/noon it goes down the toilet.

Since Monday, my ping to Hokuto is a mere 20 more than it is to east coast shards. It's completely unplayable and even worse that the problem isn't even acknowledged.

Maybe if you want to PvM against mongbats. I even tried to do Cove the other night while I had horrible lag and I couldn't.

Well my secondary account went inactive today and I am not going to pay to reactivate it. Couple more weeks and my main account will be up for payment. I hope they get this fixed by then. If not my keep on Marble Island on GL will fall in 104 days.

Did trace route and get hung up on hops 9 10 11 and have 100% pkt loss

What you can do in the meantime, is what I did. Get a free 30-day trial with WTFast.com and bypass the hop. I've been running just fine using it. Best you can do is hope it gets fixed within 30 days.

WTF trials time out after X amount of time (I think it's 20min) causing a discon requiring a client restart. It can get rather suckish if you lose track of time.

If it were like this for me, I wouldn't be using it.

When's the last time you've tested this? If it's been a while, I'd give it another shot. Make sure you also sort their servers by ping, and if that happened to be, I would try another server.

There's nothing the team can do about it. Back in the day this sort of thing would last for months. In thinking and hoping this shouldn't last longer than another week. I mean, I'm sure banks are transmitting important data over these lines as well... What I'm getting at is games are not the only thing affected by this, someone somewhere high up has to complain at some point.

Can't argue with you there, now a days these kind of things are typically unheard of. I'm sure they will always happen but damn you'd think someone would notice and have it fixed within a 24hr period. If enough people complain to the right people it'll get noticed - be it your ISP or maybe Amazon.

Only thing that gets me is that, again, this day in age, people can't fathom that there's a problem with anything other than the game server.

I mean... there is a bit more involved than your computer and the server that hosts the game.

You gota understand that WTFast is not for your typical user. Some people may get lucky and the first sever they try they are good with. If not, I would keep trying. Networking can be misunderstood to many people. Even the 30day trial doesn't let you take full advantage over features I'm extremely interested in. From my understanding premium users can make their own routes.

Regardless this is not a long term situation and people are just required to be patient.

i use a similiar service called lower ping, its about £5 a month also with the option of a 30 free trial with 20 min disconnects,

make the game playable when travelling across africa, also i guess would help with the above issue.

Well this sure is weaksauce... I go from being one of the fastest people on ATL, constantly being accused of speedhacking, to not even being able to play because of 2 second pauses every 3 steps.

I checked at around 6:00am (eastern time) this morning, before i headed out to do some work for Dad. I had 31 latency, 0% Packet loss, to all East coast servers. right now its back to 200, 50%+ packet loss, for east coast servers.

Looks like the bad hop issue has been resolved, ping back down to 20ms.
