Why bother to make a shard with no insurance (which i love) and make a one hit kill weapon?

I was having a blast farming and fighting of pkers in my all 30's resist suit, when all of a sudden I was one hit killed.

I had seen a few people talking about the sword in global chat but had no idea you can just go back again and again and get as many as you want...

What a huge F up, please tell me why I would bother to play a shard where I can lose all my stuff in one hit?

It seems they finally have taken items too far...when your skills mean nothing its time to say CYA! SOTD!

The fact that these forums are not filled with people like me tells me that the shard is not reaching the player base anyway.

I've posted at least 3 different times they need to be removed. They obviously don't care.

Is the UO equivalent of a shooter?

Developers just thought it a fun idea to implement such a thing.
Not sure though that they were right.

It is fun once, but to use it repeatedly ...

Yup, take it out.. It ruins the shard worse then the ten zillion red healers.

Not sure if anyone noticed but there was ALOT of people playing then everyone got tired of the one hit kill swords and left.

Nah, that could never be the case. The developers spend 24/7 in front of the game and prevent any problems from ever happening within 10 seconds of an issue starting...la

The swords really aren't that big of a problem. In fact, they promote teamwork. You can only use one per character at a time and you have to go to a distant island to get another. The island often has other people trying to get the swords and as long as you are with someone else when looking for problems then you should be able to cope with the sword. You probably are just angry because you lost your suit (ironic considering you like no insurance) and didn't happen to read the specifics on the shard which states that there is a one hit kill item that can be used. Therefore, you should be fully alert whenever seeing other players you are not friendly with. Don't pull a Jax and be Mr. Kool and walk up to someone who just hid and get one hit killed.

On another note, I will agree that they should have put a timer of using the sword once per day and make the so called "Tower of Doom" where you get the sword very difficult to survive. They should also make the sword work like a normal weapon and be able to miss players. It appears that it will always hit if close to the victim which therefore makes it rather lame. I like the idea of a revenge tactic (the sword) if you are outnumbered or up against someone who has collected an uber suit.

welcome to the classic shard( it is not really) but it is close.
