Why do things placed on top of a table...

Okay, so I've been working on my museum house, and it seems after server up, several of the items that I placed ON TOP of a stone table, and which were even raised on the Z-axis with the house deco tool, suddenly end up UNDER the table.

It's more than a bit frustrating having to try to re-raise everything, remove tables, re-add tables, et cetera.

Can we please get this z-stack sorting issue solved?

It is a pain, but a trick to not having to redeed the tables is to use cntrl + sift to see the item tags then use the deco tool on the tag. You can click off tags you don't want to reveal the one you do.

Yeah, unfortunately in the 2D client, it only pulls up a limited number of them, and usually, not the thing I'm looking for. Since I can't get the coordination to decorate in the EC, I have to use 2D... though I suppose I could decorate in 2D and lift in EC, but what a pain...

Plus, I really don't want to have to do it daily... I'd really prefer they fix the z-sort issue. hehe

I find when I try that trick it usually bring up stuff on the OTHER SIDE of the room... and NOTHING on the side I'm on... which I find even MORE frustrating!:mad:

Run away from what you are trying to highlight and keep hitting ctrl +shift till you see the area you want tagged, then while still holding down ctrl +shift raise up the items. You can be anywhere in the house and use the dec tool on something as long as you can see the item or see the tag.

Right... I get that there are tricks to doing this.

The point, really, is that we shouldn't have to grab a kite string, tie a key to it, hold CTRL-ALT-DEL with our left toes while grasping a piece of chalk with our right toes, singing the words to "God Save the Queen" while humming "The Battle Hymn of the Republic" and getting punched in the stomach by a rabid mongbat all in order to get our items to stay on top of our tables.

There should be something that remotely resembles a Z-sort order, and items should have priority levels. IE: a table should have priority 0 while a flower should have priority 1; this way if a table and a flower end up at Z-level 20, the table is always under the flower. The Server should handle storage of the Z-level, the Client should handle the function of the priority (which is to say the server wouldn't be lagged by prioritizing how an object is displayed).

Aye a fix is needed, I absolutely agree, was just offering a trick I use to hopefully save you some of the trouble. Folks who run museums or have a lot on display loose a lot of play time re-fixing their homes.

Out of curiosity, have you found any tricks to keep stuff from dropping below tables? I've tried to at least raise items on top once, but there doesn't even seem to be any rhyme or reason as to why something falls. Like, some stuff stays just fine, other stuff falls.
