When you make the apple, it destroys the potion bottle. Why?

Why do Enchanted apples destroy the bottle?

I have always wondered what gives its glaze that extra sparkle.
Witches' recipe for apples of uncursing:
To fulfill thy noble needs,
First thou needst five apple seeds
Next pour in a freshly brewed and spewing lotion,
For best effect, use a greater healing potion
Finally, add to the cauldron a spider's cleanly brushed arse
Or failing that, some crushed glass
So know you know what happened to the bottle, eh?
With the prices of bottles these days, I have resorted to buying nightsight potions and drinking them to get the empty bottles
Btw, Grapes of wrath and Acid proof ropes have this problem too.
Would be nice if we can get back the empty bottles.
