Recently, i was trying to sell my accounts and my first house in luna.

A person contacted me through ICQ, saying he knows a lot brokers & very interested in the house.

I asked him how do he pay me, and he said paypal. I said that s too risky for me to accept money through paypal.
Then he said he got 100 positive rate.
I told he i wanna sell the accounts with the house at the same time.
And then, i showed him the equipments on my characters.

I didnt make a list but here are the items i showed him.

And then i asked him how much for them including my accounts and he said:

I said the price is too low for the items. I was thinking he s a bad person, trying to rip me off.
I said i just want to sell the house.
He said paypal is the fastest way to send money. I told him paypal is too risky for me. But i have no choice, i gave him my e-mail address.
He sent me money. But, the description showed :
Seller Protection Policy: Ineligible
As we all known, all uo contents are intangible, no shipping address. If the buyer ask for refund, he can always win.
I thought, that must be a trap, and refunded him. I knew that s too late but I would rather not taking the risk.
However, he said:ur finished. And then, he asked his friends to blame me in icq.


I know i did wrong. I should end the talking with him before accepting his money. But, i was too tired and really want to sell everything i got in UO.
I tried to trust him, but his offer was really unreasonable. And he said a lot scary words to me.

He taught me a lesson.

Sounds like he was trying to bully you into doing it with big talk about his broker friends and online muscle. You most likely just saved yourself from getting scammed. From my experience the ones that want to rip you off are very eager to make the transaction quickly and not take any time to work with you. With UO and intangible things you did the right thing concerning the payment. Sell him a toothpick with a bunch of free UO stuff with it. The toothpick is the tangible object.

Well, you take a chance every time you try and cross the virtual-RL interface by trying to sell something in game for real-life money. Short of having a buyer ride his dirtbike (lol) over to your house and deliver the money, paypal is the best way to go.

You have to assume some risk though.

From your posts and my limited interactions with you on icq i have to assume you are a non-USA player. My icq interaction with you involved your search for a "godly ring with HCI/DCI/DI". I icq'd you with a five mod ring with HCI13/DCI13/DI21. All I got in reply was "not godly enough". It could be the language barrier, but you came off as being very curt and rude, as if you were somehow doing me a favor. There was not a courtesy phrase such as 'thank you'. From the replies others made to your posts, it is fair to assume other stratics members got the same warm fuzzy feelings from you.

Sure there are always sharks prowling these boards, but I have made many fine trades and met many new friends on the stratics trade forums. One suggestion I would make is to start with small trades (items) and work your way up (houses) with someone. You have every right to be suspicious, but from your posts I did not see a single successful transaction. So I would say you both share some blame. You as a stratics member who despite 20+ posts has not gained any confidence in the trade forum, and the other guy for getting his hopes up that he could make a successful trade with you, even though your posts would indicate otherwise.

yep, with a luna house use EA's service and save yourself some worries.
you still have to figure out how to collect however.
try western union
if you have a cell phone call the person and talk to them while you go collect you $$ from the local k-mart/walmart whathave yah.
once you have the $ then transfer the account+house+etc.
then your safe
