Which 'Ultima' based rideable would you pick?

At the last UO meet Mesanna and the team suggested they would be working on new tameables. Obviously they're going to bring back the Silver Steed--cough ;PPP--but, other than bringing in another familiar ride, what do you think would be the best oddball out of these three:

-Seahorse: we were supposed to get these for Ilsh but never did

+1 for Dragon Turtles.

But really, I'd also vote for anything that offers the same benefits as a swamp dragon, but takes up < [seemingly] 20 square tiles. I'm not sure what annoys me more at events - flapping wings or swampies (and I use swamp dragons, myself).

I really like the Dragon Turtle, but I think it would be quite hard to design it so that it doesnt look weird when running at the speed of a horse.

A rideable big cat I'd have to tame one and call it CatHat hehe.

And bring back a (toned down if necessary) dread mare but with the long mane slightly lighter coloured mare graphic. So they aren't going to make pure black dreads less rare, but newer tamers can get their own dread.

Funnily enough I was thinking in terms of a big cat. I remember old movies with Tarzan riding a Lion.
How about a Palomino-like gold 'good' equivelant of the dreadmare? - a natural gold colour, NOT blaze.

Ooh yes, palominos! Anything that looks like a nice horse...hmm piebalds too.

A lion mount would be great, any big cat and I'm happy really.

Ridable Drakes. I know people want ridable dragons but how could we mount one without dislocating a hip? We could also allow for our new ridable drakes to have the same barding as the swampies. I'd love for my 'knight' character charge into battle on an armored drake.

Things I would like to see:

Griffin for sure!

Very Large big Cat ...... Tiger perhaps.

Dolphins as a ridable.

Camels I can't understand why we don't have them. I think they should be a rideable pack animal... with 3X the stamina of a blue beetle. After all they do go days without drinking.

Elephants that can carry a whole party. They could be used as a "land boat" from which you can shoot, cast spells etc.

Would like to see a chariot and a horse drawn carriage or cart as well.

Also my dream would be a rideable giant black widow spider or Dread spider.

I posted this in an older Fishing thread, but I think it would be very interesting to add some sort of ethereal sea animal (seahorse, dolphin, dragon turtle!, etc.) that acts like a mount but only works at sea - as a new rare fishing quest reward(!). I know, kick butt, right? Maybe give it similar restrictions to land mounts (i.e. no pie throwing, no mining, no chopping, and in this case, no fishing?) and the speed of a row boat (slow). With the new high seas movement upgrade, maybe this isn't impossible?

I'd like 'equipped' versions of exsting animals that give them benefits: Barded warhorse with same benefits as swamp dragon. Unicorn with cloth and Kirin with dragon costume over it that gives spell damage increase. Ridgeback decorated with a fancy saddle and warpaint for swing speed increase. Etc etc. We already got so many animals, and most are just useless and dull or ugly. Give a use to existing animals before introducing new ones.

How about being able to have a team of savages carry you around on a fancy platform four of them carry with one in the lead?

Of course if one of the carriers is attacked, you have a 25% chance of doing a faceplant with a three second stun as suddenly one corner isn't supported anymore.

I'd be happy with the pet revamp making old pets useful. Perhaps a reptalion could become a rideable slightly less powerful greater dragon. We should have more casting pets with a greater range of skills (chiv,necro, mystic) and a greater range of special moves. I would love to be able to choose what special moves my beloved pet does.

From there i would love to see the ability to take a plain horse/ossy and do long extensive training to train it to be on par with a dread warhose. For those with no taming it would be a regular rideable. For those with 100 taming they could be equal to a nightmare. With 120 taming they could be trained to be equal to that of the warhorse. Maybe giving all the colored ossies different specials depending on what color they are.

The flying carpet! Yeah, it's not a pet but it's a rideable from old school ultima (Ultima 5), though likely more along the lines of an ethereal. I've been trying to get it as a vet reward for ages. For a tameable, it isn't old school Ultima either, but I always wanted a rideable bison. Another old school tameable would be the mongbats who kicked the crap out of Lord British's party down in the Underworld of Ultima 5. They buried what, half their party from that battle and that with Lord British fighting alongside them. I guess he went afk during that battle.

Forgot to add in as they gain and train their control slots increase.

Could use the same gain and train on WW. Ability to halt their growth at 4 slots with some special vet NPC bought apple. Or take them to GD size.

Gaman gather in groups. To bad they lack pack and do greater chicken damage.

Love the trained up horsey idea! Mostly because my fisher has a 10 year old white "pony" and I'd just LOVE to have the ability to train it up even to equal something like her kitsune or even just like a giant beetle pet. Poor thing does die quite often on the boat but she's a real part of that character now having been with her so long. Lesser pets being trained up to have a modest boost in power is good, especially for those of us who use little pets.
