GM Lothande of EA.com Customer Relations wrote the following:

Greetings, though we appreciate your comments, GM's cannot help with these suggestions. We encourage you to post your opinions and suggestions on the appropriate forum located at http://uo.stratics.com. Our developers frequent these boards in search of suggestions and very much appreciate your feedback. Thank you for your continued support.

I looked around Stratics forums, but was unable to locate the appropriate thread. In which thread can I safely post a complaint re: latency, that the devs will also view? I'm kind of baffled by his response.

Thank you in advance for the help.

Start your own thread if you don't see one that suits your topic.

I am concerned that this thread would be locked, as it might be construed as a rant. I am trying to follow the GM's instructions, while also respecting Stratics' policies.

Well the GM said "We encourage you to post your opinions and suggestions on the appropriate forum" -- there is a Rants forum, but I'd just post it here on the UHall.
If you say your concerns in a respectful, constructive way, it will not be moved or locked. The ones that are moved for being ranty usually are because someone posts in a crazy manner.

The ATL invasion was basically unplayable until people like me got so frustrated and left. When enough people left the lag when down and the event could be finished. Now I'm sure they care, but what can the honestly do about it. What is the point of poking them in the eye one more time for something they really cant control.

If you put that many players and.... vendors (mabye haveing it somewhere other then Luna would help) in one place there is going to be a problem.

So other then the gripe above my point is there is no real place to put your post, as there is nothing to be done about it.

I agree with you, insofar as I realize that the devs are unable to address this problem. However, I disagree with your notion that nothing can be done.

My post would not be a "poke in the eye" for the devs. On the contrary, it would be intended to support the devs. My understanding is that the devs are also frustrated with UO's renown latency issues, but that their petitions to EA games requesting fixes for these problems have gone unheard.

My hope is that, with enough support from EA's customer base, the dev's will have more fodder when next they raise this issue. Devs are employees of EA games - they only hold so much sway with their management. Customers, on the other hand, are EA's livelihood. Ultimately, a customer base united behind the game devs would hold much greater sway. Don't you think?

And this is Fallon, btw, Vion.

Sup man,

Don't get me wrong, I want it fixed. I just honestly don't think they can fix the problem. The problem is with in and out.

You can fix a resource problem with a server if it is running out of resources, you can buy a faster pc if yours is to slow.

You can't however fix the core routers between you and the UO servers, and when we all bombard the servers there is only so much pipe.

Oh and the gripe comment was about my post not yours.
