Where to Hunt (a returning player)?

Hello Everyone,

I have just started playing again and am having difficulty remembering things and seeing all that has changed etc. I have an elder mage with seemingly poor armor (for these times) and a very little coin.

Where would be the best place for me to hunt to build up my funds? At the moment I have been going to despise and hunting ettings its very easy with a few vortex's I can make a few k.

Where would you suggest for a returning player trying to get back into things?

I think I could have more of a challange then despise, but dont want to go somewhere that I will die straight away :)

Many thanks for your ideas.

Welcome back.
Try Tsuki wolves in Homare Jima (north east from the gate).
They don't cast, have 1000gp and respawn fast.

Hail and welcome back!

Another spot I could recommend is the Arctic Ogre Lord (AOL) in Ice Dungeon. Sure, it's a slow respawn and your currently poor resists make it so that you do not want to get hit, but it's a nice place to also pick up 2 levels of Honor virtue. (Which may help retrieve your corpse if it goes wrong somewhere else.)
(Can make a macro, invoke virtue, then pick honor - then use it and target the AOL before u damage it. Then cast a few flamestrikes and you should gain in it.)
Decent cash though Tsuki Wolfs will go faster I am sure. (Never hunted there myself tbh.)

Also an option could be Painted Caves ("new" dungeon near waterfall west of Trinsic), Troglodytes spawn very fast, have abt 600 gold and bandies and you'll only need physical resistance. You just have to watch out for Lurg the named Troglodyte and Grobu, the named Bear (bad for karma!) who are normally at the back of the cave, but sometimes get lured to entrance.

Just some ideas... Good hunting and safe travels!!

Welcome back!

Tabby already named my first choice for gold-mining: the painted caves. For a mage I do have an addition though which should make it much easier to make them trogs fall over: cast several fields of poison and EVs. The fields prevent the trogs from healing themselves and thus makes them die to your EVs faster.

If you feel a bit more adventurous you can try Wind. The demon nest in the south-east corner is a nice moneymaker and the spawn is nicely fast. The bank is only a short jog away so you can hunt for hours there without having to leave the place.

Good luck and be kind to beggars! Some of them have a permit!

Go to any champ altar in the game, u will find 3-12 players everytime.....even tramside ones...the new drops have breathed life back into champs and after the boss is slayed u can easily pick up 10-15k ...a time.

Hiya

My dungeon of choice is blood dungeon, but I think that may be a bit much for you atm :) The harpy cave in Ish Spirituality is good, gold and gems and not too hard on you unless you get a few paras all at once :)

If you want some help with armour, some company or just someone to shout for a res, add me to icq (451 321 008) or PM me here :)

For quick gold and a chance of minor artifact and top level treasure chests i would take a mage to The Labyrinth and do Miasma. 2 evs and invis whilst you regen mana (high mana regen + focus helps). It is a bit tough but Miasma does not nick your kit if you die and there is a healer just outside the dungeon.
