They are the gargoyle's horns, like, player-gargoyle's horns.
They're kind of like hair, in that they're like a non-removable wearable.
When you die, they're removed (the gargoyle ghost doesn't have horns, if you look).
Somehow, someone's managed to acquire the horns (I once had one appear in my corpse, but never managed to loot it).
I'd say it's best not to own these, when the devs cast their eyes in that direction.

you can loot them off of dead gargoyle healers.
