I'm pretty new to UO. My friend gave me his old account, and I decided to start over fresh, so I created my characters on a server that he had none on: Great Lakes. I've been playing for a month or so, and here's where I'm at:
Character 1: (warrior)
Anatomy 100
Healikng: 92.1
Parrying: 91.8
Swordsmanship: 100
Tactics: 100
Chivalry: 88.3
Resisting spells: 100
Strength: 125
Dex: 70
Int: 35
Character 2: (crafter)
Alchemy: 100
Blacksmithing: 36
Carpentry: 100
Lumberjacking: 100
Mining: 41
Tailoring: 26
Tinkering: 50.2
On my warrior, I've spent most of my time going from dungeon to dungeon grinding out a set of virtue armor just because it's very cost-effective. It's blessed, self repairs, full 70's and most importantly for me, free. With what gold I've been able to save, I picked myself up a Soul Seeker and a Shield of Invulnerability. The age on this account is 17 months, so I guess that gives me increased stats? I'm not sure.
My question is, is where do I go from here? Right now I'm pretty much just grinding dungeons for gold and artifacts, even though people tell me they're really not that great.
What can I do to make gold, or is killing ogre lords and stuff good? And what should I do to get better equipment? I'd like to be able to afford scrolls and stuff to get past GM skills, but I can't really afford them right now.
