When True Night Falls: Hatred.
The Freeborn Press
The violence surrounding the Magincian War took an ominous turn last night as Citizens of Vesper formed a mob and turned on a pair of women suspected of courting Bane Commanders during the Invasion.
Victoria O'Connor and Yvette Ashford were hung just before dawn near the Northern Crossroads of Vesper, not more than a mile from the Town Square. Both women had been roused from their beds by the angry mob of some two dozen townspeople and dragged to the site where they were stripped, mutilated and hanged. Guardsmen tell us that the marks branded on their foreheads are an ancient pagan sigil used to ward off demons.
The pair are being brought back to their birthplace in Britain to be buried. Suspects have not been identified.
