Shields are for like 8 players.
What I hope they rethink is the loot that is brittle and unrepairable.
It needs to have more durability. A piece of armor or weapon with 25 durability that is unrepairable lasts about 10 min for a dexer. Thats crazy.
Fine with 25 durability if there is no POF - but not 'unrepairable'. Thats just crazy. You might as well not drop the item.

I hope they DONT change the shield, its fine as it is. If they do change it then they'll be listening to the minority NOT the majority.
The low lifespan of the new items is meant to offset the fact that they're insanely powerfull.... we don't need a new generation of EVEN MORE INDESTRUCTABLE OVERPOWERED crap.
They already addressed this. It's in the Origin publish notes.

I would suspect after having to revert they will be more gun-shy about the publish. I'm presuming they will re-publish to Origin first.
There is nothing wrong with the items now for loot in Shame..
So some is brittle other is cursed..live with it..
They drop so much its insane..
And alot does not have any negative effect to it..
If people would spend more then 1 hour on a test centre or Origin they would see its just perfect the way it is..
I have seen peices of armor drop that are as good or beter then Protecter of the batle mage..
Ya it may be cursed or britle, but more often it isent..it just has crappy resist..
This effect for loot will be perma..so if you cant get a something you like in a few hours each day hunting for fun..then there is something wrong with you.

On Origin i have seen 80% of stuff left on corps or on the ground..
And alot of it was beter then imbued stuff..
Actualy alot gave relic frags..
So dont worry , you will get your new beter stuff..its just not insta grat for some..

If an item has Cannot Be Repaired and does not have Brittle, its durability is 150.
If an item has Cannot Be Repaired and also has Brittle, its durability is 75.
and if it cant be repaired but does not have brittle it wouldnt matter what the durability starts with? just let it get to 0/10 or whatever and pof it back up to 245/255 or whatever it ends up at. cause when you pof something worn out it gets repaired?
its with cannot be repaired AND brittle should start 255.. that would give you about a week worth of use.

Phoenix you guys should just go ahead and release it. looks like everything is running swimmingly on Origin now, would love to be able to hunt in shame on my home shard this weekend.....with no IDOCS im just so bored....Shame actually looks fun!

Go live and start buffing the next dungeon as soon as you can because until the second one is up we will have to take tickets to kill a scorpion in Shame.
I can see poor mud pies ganged by five greater dragons, three sampires, ten mages and god knows how many archers / throwers in the hope to make at least 1 point of damage to enter the loot.

I think it's funny as heck, 35 durability. Acid slugs or acid Ele's in SA - 1 pt drop per hit (fact). repaired @ 1 durability, 2 second swings, do the math - makes my brain hurt, but prol not long

We have to see the drop rate under "heavy farming" before to start thinking about the durability issue. I mean, maybe you can get 10 more or less equally powerfull low durability items per hour: at that point it's just a matter to swap the broken item with a new one.

What I hope they consider for further dungeons is to not simply have the loot system be "catch-all", but tweak it even further so that each dungeon puts weight on a theme of sorts, either to gear a player for further events in that dungeon, or in a round-robin style, one dungeon gears you up for the next (A gears you for B gears you for C... until Z gears you for A). Something along the lines that will bring people to different dungeons for different reasons.
Originally, it was the type of monsters which was good in the early days, but now they need to do a bit more to bring out the individual "personalities" of each dungeon. Kind of how the Abyss mini-champ spawns work in terms of the drops and the style of combat you have to deal with (i.e. the ratman reknowneds ahve to stupid amount of HP, but barely do any damage vs fire daemon reknowned which doesn't have very high HP, but can dish out quite a bit of damage very quickly).
Where Shame has the item that can remove Damage Increase, give other dungeons a different such item for other mods.

Brittle can be repaired but not powdered, Cannot be Repaired cannot be repaired or powdered.

Actually, it seems under the "new" leadership that they are taking the time to get it right. Publishes used to go to TC1 on Monday, Origin on Wednesday, and all other shards on Friday. Then the Developers would trouble shoot all weekend without any sleep and post a patch on Monday.
This time, it seems Origin is getting its full week of testing, like promised when Origin was created. That's smart.
Each Morning I wake at 4 am to get ready for work... each morning I log in hoping to see the patch screen... No patch screen means I go to work and everyone gets their fridges... All bets are off though if the patch screen comes up 
I'm anxious for the publish. Hopefully we get it next week!
UO already has a blindingly-fast rollout schedule on its new patch content (from test to live). I for one feel no urge to hurry this already lightning fast process along...
Not saying this to mean that something's wrong with it being this way at this stage of the game and in context. Just saying that it's already fast.

iam a 12th year player.... not a long wait for me to hit the vet reward jackpot!!!.....but i would have sooner had everyone have the chance to use this incredible gift...and they are insanely incredible...ALAS it seems others think only of themselves and how they are going to further dominate the rest of the lesser players and rule the uo world to themselves!!!....
i will wait and stack the gifts for 2 more years...its just something i think everyone should be able to do...its like the best reward ever and most useable....like i say ....i can wait...its just a shame for the 1/2/3 year players it may put them off for good...its like when u first started uo.... dreamed of riding a ethy horse,,,2 years seemed a mile stone away....so 12 years or more for the younger players will just kill any hopes they have...really will put some of the younger players off uo...and will make that gap between the have all and have nots even bigger.....
yes all you 14th year vets can clap each other...well done u all and the devs!!!..awesome....BUT lets hope not too much damage is done here..

It is not a bank holiday. The stock market is still open.
All schools closed.
All Fed Gov. shut down.
All State Gov shut down
Some banks do some dont.
Stock market rarely shuts down for anything. Think Xmas and New Years.
Walmart never shuts down
Maybe for a couple of hours lol...so the pwn the goverment.EA is open so pretty darn sure that would include Bioware. I just got off the phone with EA customer service and it was a irl person not the automated computer
Almost all retailers only shut down I think 3 days a year or maybe it is just the first 2, been awhile. Thanksgiving, Xmas and I think New Years. Everybody wants that all mighty green.Walmart never shuts down
It IS indeed a bank holiday in the US. Every bank around here is closed. The stock market is open because it is a Global financial industry, not only in the USA. The stock market is closed to observe 9 holidays next year. Veterans Day is not one of them.
