What's the funniest thing you ever saw in UO?

For me, I remember it well... Catskills Shard, back in 1998.

I was playing with Brotherhood of Night, an Anti-PK guild. We had some members of KiN holed up in their house and had the place surrounded, meteor showering them from the house gable (ahhh, remember that little exploi-- erm, feature?)

Natch, you can't see what's going on in the house. They would just open the doors to shoot out or send out a BS or EV.

But then came the charge I will never forget.

The doors came open and all eight of them came running out, yelling CHAAAARGGGEE!!!

But none of them were in their armor. All of them were in pink dresses and bonnets and carrying shepards crooks. Of course we wiped them out in nothing flat but I about fell out of my chair laughing.

While I didn't actually see this, I was a part of it, so I'll go ahead.

I was working on my very first character (warrior) and was in dungeon Shame beating up earth elementals, when a scorpoin caught me and poisoned me. My healing skill wasn't high enough to cure it, and I had no potions with me, so I ran for the dungeon exit. Just before I hit the exit, I died, and at the exact same time, I lost connection.

When I got back into the game, there were two people standing near my body typing "LOL" repeatedly. One of them rezzed me and then told me that my body had appeared just outside the entrance already dead. They said it looked like I had spawned there dead.

I can picture it in my mind, and I still laugh about it when I think about it.

To be perfectly honest, I always chuckle when I see a character die in game. That last groan, followed by the collapse of the body gets me every time. I'm kind of demented that way.

Years ago, our guild did a ton of nets out in the deep water and killed all the spawn as a fun guild event. We gated back to the guildhouse and the BODY of a dead sea serpent somehow came along with us and ended up on the ground in front of the guildhouse. We all took pics of it and I still have them to this day. Just a big dead sea serpent on the front lawn of the house belly up

I was working cartography near luna moongate. When you created maps in Luna - they didn't work and would create an indecipherable map that was grey at one point.

Well, i was working carto so I was making hundreds of these. I starting stacking them up at the gate as high as they would go.

Then a guildie came to keep me company. He was trying to 'sell' them as rares but they were just lying on the ground. When people would come take them off the ground we'd play dumb and start telling them they were stealing our rares and they shoud pay for them. etc. It was pretty funny to see the reactions.

I still remember laughing as people who thought they were rare would come and pick up all up and scurry off to the bank to store them. By the time they got back I had replaced them and more.

You would think someone's spidey sense would go off and they'd think hmm...if someone is throwing hundreds of these on the ground - they probably aren't rare.

No mind. People took them all. Thousands. I laughed for like 20 min.

I hunt there all the time, and wish they'd spice up the dialogue...

so i was in tram one day, had this big plan to train my pets on a shadow elemental.

so right after server up i went and pulled one in the cave.
then i spent the better part of the day working all my pets on it.
around supper time that night i decided to pack it in and leave.
but i had this pang of guilt at leaving this fully trained Shadow Elemental there in the cave.

so i figured id recall home and switch over to my warrior and come back and kill it.

so i went home and logged out, had to wait a minute to log back in due to battle flag.

then i finally got back in and recalled to the cave entrance and just as im going to walk into the cave i see a Miner recall in.

and not a word of a lie this SE comes screaming accross the screen and just "KAPOW" one hit kills this miner.

i was standing there shocked.
and more then just a little worried that i just inadvertinlly killed this poor miner!

but shocked as i was i laughed my ass off at the whole thing.
bad timing on the miners part.

i felt so bad that i creeped away and left the Shadow Elemental in there for the next miner.

i had fondlly recalled that every time a miner would come there they would inquire if i was actually THERE while training my pets.
it was the least i could do to leave them this UBER L33T Shadow ele to play with, hehe.

and i even took a picture of it.
