nothing goes"in" the case, it's not a container. I'll never use mine again
So far all I keep in mine or some old newbie weapons I've held onto since 1998.
A couple swords & bows that say "(Practice Weapon)" above them when you cursor over them.

What's in my display case? UNKNOWN
A turquoise, white pearl and blue diamond. I tried setting it up with some of my arties, but they didn't align right so I ended up just putting gems in it.
I think I will put my 7 dragon eggs in it.

mainly use mine for event items and dye tubs.. some things, unfortunately, dont look right on them so its kind of limited as to what you can put on them

This is a fun thread. I like seeing what people have done with their display cases.
Buns, I think that is a great way to display the horns!
Here are some of mine. I turned one of my Maginica houses into a place to display my Easter items. I decorated it really fast, so it isn't the best deco job, but here you go...

I know I sound uninformed on this subject, because I am...
But where, exactly, do Display Cases come from? I seem unable to locate them on a crafting menu...any help will be greatly appreciated!

They where from the 13th aniversary. If you logged on around the 13th brithday of UO [i think its september] every character that you logged on would recieve a 13th aniversary ticket that you double click to get a list of items you can choose one.
Oh and if you want to dye them with plant dyes you have todo it before it has ever been placed, as once they have been placed the deeds cant be dyed.

My Stockbridge chr. a fisherman on Chesapeake slapped his back in the day heaviest caught fishes in the display cases. The big fish seemed to fit nicely in the display cases as do some of the newer fish types of fishes we fish up so a few of those too are in the display cases.
Sometimes my oldest two chrs on Chesapeake will use the display cases for books THEY have written to display em in the cases..or really old school gm mark things they made back in the day, or historic items that were added to the world once upon a time that were new like a tribal berry and kin paint, or an old original orc bow etc.
Unless someone was around back then, I guess they assume we ALWAYS had such things...but once upon a time we did not. The older two chrs. also have a book entitled *They build our world* which goes thru a chronological...once upon a time, we did not have...story book. And beside that book may be a SEED, a tribal berry, orc bow, arcane gem, etc. old *expansions* once upon a time NEW things in the world.
On Siege I have used the display cases for the few times I create memoribilia of guild leaders I had and or stuff they had made since the one rl passed away, the valorite ringmail armor etc items he had made with his gm mark on em if they fit in the cases went into these. I have used them for player written books of players no longer playing UO and other players gm mark items too.
Mostly on Siege though I am finding, I am doing the same thing...my fishermens slappin their prized older heavy fish, white pearls etc. in the display cases to display.
I begin to think my fishermen chrs. are TAKIN OVER my homes' display cases though ! LOL

Feel free to steal. I use them on display in the shop so it shows that everyone can use them to dye stuff.
Currently, I have a single case in my house. One thing I did was to put a dyed pillow (from a shipwreck) between the case and an EM event sword I am displaying. The sword is kind of a copper-orange color, and the pillow helps it stand out while acting as a nice cushion for the rare item. Wouldn't want the case to damage it!
The other items are a couple of books.
