On the EC, only the EXE file was patched, which leads me to believe that they just replaced login.ultimaonline.com with the IP to temporarily fix the connection issue.

Some months or years back (I forget which, but it was post-Jeff) they dumped the Herald and returned to UO.com as the main site.

It was a big deal for some reason at the time, which too many of us took to thinking meant they were bringing back the Guild/Character lookup utility.

This didn't hit me at all as I'd always had UO.com bookmarked and let it link itself to the Herald.
