Whats happening with the bans?

hi i don't think i am in danger of getting banned for i don't report anyone and i dont cheat or dupe in anyway shape or form. i don't even have any 3rd party programs like UO assist or auto map. i have one concern what if i have a duped item and i don't know it because its possible i might have one and not know it am i in danger of getting banned? maybe i sound paranoid but after hearing about all the bans it causes me to be a bit concerned.

Dupers and dealers are finally getting the banhammer. Hopefully at least. Or this is a major hoax. People are saying they're innocent and either had a lot of money or a few hammers/kits.

Well... a lot of the people who got banned are claiming to have been innocent. Another poster claims to be a duper that got banned.

The duper who got banned claims to have basically rented rares from the rares owners who have now been banned. Apparently he made a deal with them to give them RL money to be allowed to dupe their rares and then give them back. That's his claim.

I don't know what to think. I know that I didn't do anything shady and I have not been banned... Obviously someone is lieing.

It seems to be people who bought alot of hammers, or were involved in duping/cheating somehow. There may be a few accidental bans, but if that happens, EA usually overturns them after investigation.

They still have alot more to go though, they've missed lots of accounts, so expect to see more posts soon. Evidence is in the vendors and houses in Luna Atlantic that are still standing (and a few being stocked...)

ok thanks i think i am safe in that case. i agree that players who dupe and cheat should get banned but i hate to see any player who is innocent getting banned. i think the 3rd party programs and sites that enable these cheats and dupes should be cracked down on and stopped entirely. i even heard in uo assist theres a way to cheat too like script loot i am not saying that uo asist is all bad but they need to fix uo assist so you can't script loot with it if thats true.

I don't credit the claims of innocence.

2 simple reasons.
First, there are far bigger fish for EA/M to catch than someone with less than a dozen hammers they "purchased over the course of months."
Secondly, why would someone buy hammers over months if they weren't using them up?

Maybe if they hoped the Devs would eventually get around to banning the dupers - they were buying up what they knew were underpriced Duped hammers with the intention of selling them for a huge profit after the bannings. Which of course is still Profiting from Dupes so no better than the dupers themselves.
And it certainly isn't as if anyone sane would be decorating their house with val hammers given their association with duping right now.

It sounds fishy to me too. How would the rare owner know, if he got the original item or the duped item back. Second, if they have same id after the dupe, even the original items now will be = the duped.

If a rare owner let someone dupe his items, I can't see any diff between bim and the duper, both accounts should get banned IMO.

I expect to see alot more "crying innocent" postes before this is over.

I'm only worried that we got duped items on Siege this time too, as someone posted, that it worked on TC, what do mean, it worked without xtransfer. The last thing Siege need is duped items so I'm very happy to see this bans.
