Well i have a jackals collar that i bought because i looked at the stats and was just amazed on the peace for how cheap they had it listed. Well i bought it and been fighting to figure out my issues with mana regen and mana issues in general tell someone pointed it out that its not medable.. I was wandering what could i upgrade to that could be worth dropping it for..??

Gladiator's collar or a runic-made piece.

For the stats gained nothing, the 15dex to me is far superior on an archer to the 10hci and hp increase. Especially as cap HCI is pretty simple.

I would suggest adjusting your template to incorporate focus, or, conserve mana more efficiently and make sure you max out LMC.

There are many places to get dex points from. It really depends what the nature of the character is.

I agree that it is a nice piece and I use it on my sampire. But it really depends.. would I ever use it on an archer that I'm trying to get to 180 stam and still be a mana *****? No.

The thing about the jackal's collar is that it looks really good by having a couple of very high numbers. However, there are a couple of very low numbers with it.

In fact, a crafted piece by a legendary tailor with 100 arms lore only has 2 points fewer total resists than the jackal's.

You get a gorget or mempo that is equivalent in modifiation intensity with every agapite or better hammer, and half of the gorgets created with a barbed sewing kit will be equal to or better than the jackals. And mempo have the added bonus of being med-able.

So yeah, jackal's collar can be interesting if you need exactly those mods, but in the big picture, it isn't the be-all-end-all of neck pieces.

It's OK to use it if your an elf archer without meditation. I use it on some of my elf pvm archers since they normally just use EOO, consencrate weapon, and lighting strikes if they have bushido. High hit mana leech on the weapon also helps some. On my human or chars with meditation, then they would never wear the collar. I normally look for items with high stamina increase, lower mana cost, and mana regen and resists in the areas that I need them.

Popps or slayer888 probably use voice of fallen king.

Well if you are getting a neck piece to fit in the same slot...Stamina +8, + whatever other mods you can get on it. You can easily get one hands down that has those modifications, + way more resists. Good bang for the buck in my opinion.

What's a Legendary Tailor got to do with it? The 100 arms lore, sure... but 120 only increases the chance to succeed when making it, nothing at all with the mods.

I bought a jackel's collar thinking "4 second heals here I come!!!", I wore it for about 10 minutes and promptly went back to my stam 7 lmc 8 mr1 gorget with high fire ANnnD poison resist. The collar pretty much killed the rbc and mr 2 lmc 8 sleeves I was rockin'! If it was medable I'd put it on in a heartbeat. The gladiators collar is a great option for people that have tons of money laying around, but I'll stick with my gorget

Agreed, the gorget you mentioned is a staple for the faction gear suit (m&s, stormgrip, rbc, fey) with a pair of sleeves that are identical.

In fact, if you do that and go 125 dex, 10 from faction crimson, 8 from faction ring of vile, 5 from M&S, and then throw on the new robe that gives +6 stats you are 150 dex! Then you figure 8 stam from gorget/sleeves is 166.

Start:

1. 125 Dexterity
2. 5 Regular Crimson
3. 5 Mace and Shield
4. 7 on Ring
5. 8 on Brace
6. 8 on Arms
7. 8 on Neck

166 Altogether. Didn't need to participate in factions. Didn't need any fancy robe. Didn't need to buy anything...did take time to do strong box quests and turn in items for the glasses. Cost to myself: priceless.

Ya I'm talking for PvP. Factions gives better mods.
True I understand your point. I was just showing that one can obtain descent stats without having to participate in factions. It may have taken more work for me, but I don't have to worry about stat loss and mods are all relative if one has everything they need anyways. And...no stat loss. And still PvP efficiently. I did mention stat loss...right?

I understand your liking for factions, but to me...the system is still broke. I've never been a factions fan.

In staying on topic, to the OP...if you like the Jackal's for whatever bloody reason, you can just incorporate a medable gorget with similar or higher cold and fire resist figures.

It is relatively easy to go without it though...as a number of people have pointed out.

It's all about the Dex on the JC. You can get resists on any piece, but getting 15 Dexterity points makes the JC well worth it to most Dexxers. My suit still comes out all-70's and my Dex hits 145 while my Stamina is 161.

The downside is it is not medable and only has high resists in two elements. I still consider it the best Gorget in the game and 2 of my Dexxers always wear one.

I read these posts and went back to the drawing board taking the JC out of my suit and ill tell you what...im so glad i did!!!

I now, human of course, have 150dex (ok i need to pot but have 35ep on jewels as well as the HCI/DCI/DI to cap.) 170+ stam. 150str pushing over 140hp and above 70mana, 7mr albeit low hpr only 6.

Thats without the glad collar in at the moment, i do plan on using that piece at some stage, once i can beef up the arms and legs ill be set for Glad!!!
