Hi,
Just started playing a few nights ago, made a samurai and got all my skills in the 80s range. My problem is that i'm still using the armor I got from the new haven quests, and I can't kill anything harder then an earth elemental. Tried to go shopping for new armor, but it seems like everything that is sold is 300K+, and i'm not really sure how I can make anywhere near that amount of cash.
So my question is what would be a good character to make that can earn lots of gold so I can afford the armor that is sold in shops?
Sorry my post is a bit jumbled, i'm sleepy :p. Thanks in advance.

Oh, and in case it matters i'm on Alantic.

Take your time on the armor ... and you will need to invest time and money into it. Get one improved piece at a time as you can afford things including jewelry, weapons, etc.

Earth Eles drop gems ... collect them as well as the gold. Go to the provisioner and sell the gems!! Find a tailo-in-trianing on your shard, collect normal and spined hides for them in bulk and sell them to them at a decent price. That builds cash fast if you have a good buyer!

It took me 3.5 years or so (casual play and not just this char) to actually get my Paladin where he had what I thought was pretty good stats, skills and armor. WRONG!!! I'm overhauling him somewhat and changing the mod focus a bit. I want this bloke to beat a Greater Dragon without dying 8 million times in the process. Three or 4 times, fine.

What shard are you on? If you are on Napa, PM me and I'll help you out.

If you are on a high population shard you can do what I did. I got a reasonably developed char and went to doom with the armor I had. I kept getting looting rights on the Dark Father and would eventually get arties that I could either use or sell. If my armor wore out I would just use what I got off the monsters.

This is a good way to raise skills and make gold. HOWEVER, there is one thing you must be able to do very well, you MUST be able to heal quickly with either bandaids, chivalry or magic (best combo I use is healing and chivalry).

This is just one of many ideas.

Good luck.

Shoot me a PM Yek. I can gear you up a bit.
I should be about all weekend.
I am a Legendary Tailor so we should be able to get your resists up a bit.

The OP is on Atlantic.

[/ QUOTE ]Ahhh now IC. To the original poster, you may want to see if the guys in the RK guild will take you in because they are very nice and would probably help you out quite a bit.

Thanks for all the helpful suggestions, the gems the earth elementals drop sure do add a nice bonus to a hunting trip. Thanks again.

Template wise I would suggest a peacer/mage. Peacemaking and casting bladespirits or EV's means you will rarely get hit. All you'll need to be concerned about is look for good slayer instruments.
