What would you do to make these rooms look like a child's room?

You should try the "search this forum" option, and enter words like "toys" etc. Here are a couple of suggestions, the first link is the main deco thread but there are some awesome toys and kids rooms in it so just scan through it ^^

Let's see...The furny could be dyed furny tub primary colors. For child's play things I can think of:

blue origami swan and beads as a pull toy?
toy boat from aquarium rewards
stuffy animals (pastel ones better)
mini house as a dollhouse
easel with bright colored somethings on it and paints and brush by it
plain club and smoke bomb/white yarnball,white pearl as a baseball and bat
checker board
I think there's a stealable book of children's tales (if not make up a few of your own titles)
a few vet statues lend itself well to dolls, such as the orc or troll (didn't say they were cute as Barbies)

Stuffy bears say "Kid's room" better than bats and mongbats. Colored ones moreso.
