Ok today the shard got into a big argument/discussion over vendors and pricing and probably most important the lack of stuff found on vendors. Anyway I was just wondering exactly what would people like to see on vendors that they donlt now? I think if we get a good idea of what these things are maybe people will stock them?

Good Made Suits... You cant charge 200k for a suit someones gonna die and lose. I know it costs a bit of MATS and stuff, but its not 200k worth for a MR 1 LRC Suit
Ueeful Jewerly - I have seen very few 1/3s and absolutely no 1/2s
Throw Away Weapons - I see weapons.. But nothing that appeals to the general crowd of people who want them (SSI / Hit Spells / Hit Lower Def)
This sounds dumb, but Deco! Alot of people like this in spare time.

A "Death Vortex" and a "Sparkle" from Primevil Lich Spawn. Your vendor will be instantly rich! =)

Any old rusty pixels you have lying around collecting dust that might look good in the Museum *winks*

What would be a price on a basic 1/2 w/o anything else be? Or one with some half decent mods? A price knowing that the seller can unravel it now or keep it til later to imbue further. I have a couple houses full of this stuff.

Same question with the throwaway weapons. Can ya bust out a bronze runic and craft something with decent ssi/hld/hit harm? Yep...but if its a 395gp weapon nobody is gonna craft it. What does the weapon you describe above sell for as a throwaway?

Good thread...its a pain in the ass trying to figure out what anything is worth on Siege these days.

Let me do the calculation for you:
Any good suit needs 40lmc!
Which means each of your 6 pieces needs 7 or 6% LMC on it.
This means you will need 22 relic frags to imbue that on.
1 relic frag sells for 10k at the moment
22x10k=220k

And you have not paid for one gemstone, base armorpiece or any other imbued mod on it,yet.
And I am not talking special ingreds here.
So either, people are willing to pay about 500k for good suits (40LMC,6MR 24HP,42mana,all 70 (or at least close to that)), or you will find just cheap stuff on vendors.....simple math!

Edit: A 1/3 jewel with no other mod on it costs about 330k to produce.

I try not to complain about the vendor situation because right now because running vendor malls and trying supply everyone's needs is expensive if your stuff doesn't get bought. So generally I know I can call out and find someone to make what I want. That said, some easy stuff that I go through regularly is wool, thread, cloth, regular wood, cannon balls and powder. I like being able to switch between mana and stam suits to see what works for me. I am now completely dependant on LRC. I need weapons. I lost all my fav bows when my house dropped. So I need trash bows and a couple awesome ones. Maces as well. Getting ready to put up my first big house since mine dropped and I have very little deco and memorabilia.

Ok - So as far as armor goes, maybe thats still always gonna be high. However, even me farming for an hour, I can still get up to 60 or so relic frags in that time frame.

Also - I am not talking 1/3 with no mods made.. How about old monster loot 1/2s and 1/3s? New Shame Loot? No need to make them when the old loot still exists.

If you have 1/2s, 1/1s or 1/3s with no mods or mods with LRC/DCI maybe others, I will buy them off you right now.

Even ones with limited mods were worthwhile back in the day, I dunno if people still run them or not. So many tamers and dexxers on Siege, I hardly see many mages.

A proper dexxer needs to always carry 2 weapons for different specials. Basic weapons with 30s HLD/Spells or HCI and such.. It doesn't have to be imbued to the max. I've seen some really good items come from reforging with a Shadow Runic Hammer.

The best thing to show we are an active shard is to not have empty vendors.. I wish we could knock down every single empty vendor on Siege. People see empty and think the shard is dead. Having vendors in main locations people are use to (Yew, New Mag, Luna, Etc) is a key to letting people who login to see we are an active shard. With these vendors, they should stock basic LRC Suits at a low price and such. Also carry some other stuff. I mean, we can't always make back what we use to make stuff sometimes - but if you farm the ingreds yourself, its pure profit anyways. Whats the point of hording 10k Relic Frags if your not gonna use them besides here and there when you need stuff? I really wish I had access to a mule to imbue and make stuff.

I totally agree with the points on empty vendors. Even though the situation has improved alot since JAn *when I came back* There is still alot of vendors that have been empty or nearly empty. Also if possible be sure to label your vendor clearly in terms of what sort of things people can find there. I realize if you have a ton of different stuff on your vendor it may not be possible to say exactly what you have..but it can be annoying to search through unlabeled vendors trying to find something. As for nice suits and all. I know Tina Tink stocks some with mr1 and lrc 100 all 70s *or close to it* Maybe she could also stock stam regen ones and so on? As for price yeah I can see both Rumpys and Morgans pov. Making a Good suit costs alot of money..but if you farm the stuff yourself your price wonlt be so bad. You could also downgrade somewhat the kind of suit Morgan mentioned and end up with a more affordable but still decent suit that wonlt cost someone half a mil or more if they lose it. And yeah I donlt think anyone is expecting someone to go out and make 1/2s and 1/3s like Rumpy pointed out there is still the old loot and you can get some basic jewels from there.

Ok people have mentioned deco what sort of deco are you talking about?. Because there are vendors that stock some stuff. Plants stealables and so on. I think part of the problem though is they either aren;t advertised very well, they are not labeled very well or they are not well stocked.

Also prices are another important question. Just what are people willing to pay for these throwaway weps and jewels?

Deco Stuff.. Deeds.. Forges, Anvils, Looms, ETC
Tables / Chairs / Benches
Lot of normal deco stuff.

Throwaway Price wise... I dunno. 25-50k?

Ok cause I can probably make a vendor for the normal deco stuff like that. :) Also another question I have bought some smithing runics and will experiment some with making some decent throwaays. I have a pretty good idea of what kind of weps I want..but what type of weps are others looking for?

I absolutely agree, that relic frags farming is a lot easier today than before. The thing is: If you do the farming and unraveling, are you willing to part with the relic frags for say 2k a piece? Furthermore are you able to supply the demand of the whole shard?

There is the problem, I have tried this thing with essences since there is a demand for them: I dedicated an hour (sometimes two) of my daily sparetime I have, to farming essences in the abyss. I stocked my vendor and usually it was sold out the next day. I was like: "Wow good, so we will see more ppl running around with decent stuff", but then I found out that just "one rich guy" who does not realy play our shard anymore but just pops in for a few minutes a day always bought my vendor out to hoard the stuff "in case I need it later".
So I quit my farming there, since gold is not my motivation.
What we could do and I am willing to do that: If one needs a certain essence to make an item, shout out in general: "Looking to buy 10 essence of such and such."
I will try to provide it.
But do not start like:"I need 100 Essence of Control, because I need to make 10 different type of weapons" if you need that, farm it yourself, or comission some newbie to do it for you ( on a sidenote: my arrow supply is comming to an end so if any newbie in training wants to farm arrows, I pay more that the standard price for bundles of 1000s p.m.)

Im more then happy to farm stuff as i have never been one for crafting its the hoarders that kill things. As i could see the same thing happen to me. I put up a vender and sell out the stuff i farmed up, then wonder were the vender is with the nice new armor i would like to have lol.

I've not been on the shard as much as I'd like lately, but if someone sends me a 'hey Petra, you're out of [whatever]' pm or icq I'll come fix it.
If there's anyone who doesn't know, mine is the shop at Zento dock.

Make stuff that does not require those ingreds. You can do MR 1, LMC, LRC, and Resists with no special ingredients except frags and still get all 70s.

I don't think its necessarily supplying the whole shard. It seems most people have their own way of making their stuff or have people do it for them. It would be to benefit new players mostly, though I personally would pay top $$ for high end stuff.

Like you Morgan, I do not care about having gold or really alot of items items. I sell mostly every item I get from IDOCs and such on my vendor, except for the few common pieces I kept for house deco. I take the gold and just buy Soulstones with it and maybe an Ornament of the Magician if I can find one. Having a use for my gold to buy other stuff would be cool.

I try but I have very little play time in the week days and my vendors sell much faster aafter the move from Luna to New Magincia.
I do however have the next 3 weeks off, so I hope I then can get them all stocked :)

maybe with th shard being as it is currently, we should start a thread for generic needs that farmers could respond to for player trades
